Headline News

We're back up and running!
It's been a bit up and down but lots of casual bookings are happening and we've had one well attended club night. This will be the las organised week so get down on either Weds or Thursday night if you can.

Free junior sessions
I'll run two further sessions for our juniors this week who I'm keen to get engaged with the sport;
  • Monday 4.30-6pm: Experienced players
  • Thursday 4.30-5.30pm: Novice players
Please bring your youngsters down if they are available, thanks.

COVID precautions
All seems to be settling down well and it's good that the council have entrusted us with the responsibility. We have roughly 16 of 90 members yet to provide vaccine passes with their membership presently suspended. I'd really like to get these members back up and running again.

School holiday prog
It's likely that a holiday programme will be organised in the last week of January just before term 1 begins so please respond if you'd like to secure a place. $50/ per day from 9-4.30pm.

INTERCLUB NEWS

Will resume next March most likely.

New members & grade improvements

A warm welcome to five new members over the past week. Junior parent David Malins has joined with mate Clayton Holmes who I'm sure will both be looking for further challenges down the track. Minja Boric & James Anderson have joined and will also I'm sure be seeking further challenge. And Devanjan Roy has followed his young son, Sid, into the club to provide him a training partner..

Tournaments

These are just cranking into gear and I would highlight the Mt Maunganui tournament from 28-30 Dec. It's a not for points social tournament at a really cool club and $30 entry will cost $30 if before 22 Dec. They usually sell out, I've played twice and parked my camper outside the club which is adjacent to Bay Oval.

Below is my range of modestly priced Dunlop rackets together with the legendary Tecnifibre racket previously endorsed by Mohammed El Shorbagy. Grab me at the club to find out more, any of this gear would constitute a great Xmas present!

  • Dunlop Sonic Core Revelation premium graphite 125g (El Tayeb) $180

I'm looking forward to the final leg of the F1 Grand Prix tomorrow and am loving the way Liverpool are playing. International sport has been something of a life saver these past 3 months. But it's been good to get back on court myself this past 9 days and I hope to see some of you at the club this coming week.

Best regards

Paul
