Headline News

Lockdown update
The levels 3a-3c arrangements outlined by the PM on Monday take some understanding but it is apparent to me from all I've heard that squash action will be on hold until Level 2. We are subject to the rules applicable to council buildings anyhow which means that it is not our decision unilaterally.

Please keep an eye on Facebook (and maybe join the group) to keep up with the latest news.

Anyone for tennis?
I've caught up with one of the tennis club committee and understand that one can play subject to these protocols;
  • Doubles partners must be from the same bubble
  • Balls should be rolled back to adjacent courts and not picked up.
So maybe we could book a tennis get-together on the public courts. I'll lodge a poll on FB and see who might be keen on a session this weekend, weather permitting!

World Squash Day - postponed
Here's an update from Sam;
"So I know all our members and people on this page are super smart...and will have realised we will not be able to hold our squashathon this Saturday. We will however try and reschedule once we can play. Playing or not does not prevent us from supporting the mental health foundation, who need our support more now than ever and you can support here. We will keep you all updated on what we will do and when. In the meantime, stay safe all".

North Shore Club manager vacancy
With Tyler's appointment to a Squash NZ role this full time role is available which offers late starts at 10.30am and a good work/life balance. Further info and a job description can be found here.

INTERCLUB NEWS

Now awaiting certainty around resumption dates.

New members & grade improvements

Not much opportunity for change.

Tournaments

In limbo

Gear available

Here's my range of very modestly priced rackets;
  • Tecnifibre Carboflex 125g (pictured) $175
  • Dunlop premium graphite (Farag) $175
  • Dunlop Elite (Gaultier) $160 pictured
  • Dunlop Tempo 155g $125
  • Tacky overgrip (incl re-gripping): $5
  • Full replacement thick grip $10
  • Single yellow ball: $7
Not much more that can be said or done right now in a situation where the virus seems to be spreading, not retracting. I did invite via FB any household to join a zoom quiz this Friday at 7pm. Click here at the time if keen and it would be great to see you (password if needed "hello").

Otherwise I hope you're keeping well and that kids are enjoying these unusual school hols.

All the best

Paul
