Headline News

Welcome back!
Unless there's some untoward news in the next 24 hours the club will re-open it's doors at 12.01am on Monday and I hear that an invitation only event is being held at that early hour as the first hit-out. The tail of COVID cases is concerning with 11 further cases today so safety precautions are likely to be in place for a while.

What's been happening
As was the case during the last lock down the committee have not been idle with a number of new initiatives underway. These are detailed below together with an invitation to club members to support in areas that we view as critical.

Playing opportunities
This Monday will provide a hit-out opportunity for our interclub players with sessions at 6.30, 7.30 & 8.30 if required under the 10 person limitation. At this stage we only have 7 players confirmed so there would be one session at 6.30pm. Register your interest via our FB poll here.

Interclub resumption
As things stand interclub will resume on Monday 7th Sept with the exception of Mens 2 (Graham) who have a bye and extra time to prepare.

Club Social (mark on your calendar!)
Subject to lockdown restrictions we intend to stage a club social on Thurs Sep 10th featuring some court action from 6.30pm followed by mulled wine, fruit crumble and an opportunity to socialize. This will be put back to a later date if needed but the committee thinks a club sponsored evening would be opportune.

Heat pump sought!

Graham and I have spent long enough chilling in the club room so during the break we've secured quotes in support of a funding application to the local board. So next winter we intend to have a better heat source whether through funding or self-financing.

Club Brochures

With support  from Tan and Graham we have re-designed the 2020/21 brochure which will be displayed at the club tomorrow and, with support from members, across the community in the near future. Thanks to the Kaipataki Local Board for funding their production.

Support needed!

These are the six new operational initiatives identified by the club which have live links to Squash Auckland advisory material. If you either have experience in these areas or an interest in developing new skills let me know as we'd like to push forward with these initiatives shortly;
#17 - Promotional Material
#15 - Annual Marketing Plan
#2 - Creating Opportunities for New Players
#3 - Social Media & Website
#14 - Annual Communications Plan
#4 - Member Satisfaction Survey
Recently we gained a new sponsor being the business run by Mayank Dewan whose family members Shweta & Arjun are club members. Sponsors boards will go up shortly to join those of Link Projects and we have a further sponsorship to be announced shortly.

So if you need a new dentist, Affordable Dentists, with a choice of practices in Manly, Northcote, Manly & Birkenhead might be your best option.

We have one further court available for sponsor branding and are open to advances from club members.
Thanks to the 9 members who expressed an interest in attending the AGM via zoom. We will now trial this forum and, to avoid club conflicts, the most sensible date appears to be Tues 22nd Sept at 7pm. You are welcome to add your name to the attendance via our FB poll here.

Coaching will resume next Monday and you are required to either scan the clubs QR code or sign in on the register. For the first week showers and the water filter spout will be disabled and only 10 people are allowed within a club cluster (upstairs or downstairs). All being well these restrictions will be removed after the first week.

Please revert with any concerns or if you require further info. I will enable court bookings early on Sunday evening and am looking forward to a game myself on Monday evening.

Best regards

Paul
