COVID lockdown

As you've heard already the club's doors are locked but it seems likely it will be a short one with action resuming next Sunday 7th March.

Summer League

This has gone really well with 3 of the 4 leagues poised for final matches tomorrow before the lockdown occurred. I think it's likely that the interclub start will be deferred a week meaning that we can push back round 3 to next Monday. If League 2 can get catch-up games played on Sunday then we can conclude on Monday or Thursday if interclub happens to start as originally planned.

It's a very open competition due to the absence of games played in League B but Sophie's 3 wins, playing with a "point on serve only" handicap in League 4, has given Team D the edge.

Senior interclub

Squads are shown below together with enrolment fees and .likely competition dates, subject to further lockdowns.

Junior coaching

This got underway last week but now takes a further break with Arjun and a new entrant likely to join the ranks on resumption. Focus in the early part of the term will be on Squash Fit, a fitness programme for squash, that I believe deserves a further roll-out.

Roof update

I was part of a roof inspection last Friday and the roof gained approval subject to the placement of some wooden support and insulation underneath the ventilation pipes pictured below. The club will also be funding some lights for club signage while the scaffolding is in place to simplify installation. Ventilation will not be operative until new fuse boxes are installed for both the squash and tennis clubs, a project already underway.

Autumn Interclub enrolment

Here are our confirmed squads entered for Autumn interclub. The Autumn league will be played on Monday nights most likely from 15th March for 5 weeks and cost $20/ player to cover competition fees & balls. Matches are played alternately home and away from 7pm.

A big welcome back to Carmen Ashcroft who rejoins with a view to playing interclub. Her free month's membership for being our 100th member in 2020/21 will handily cover her interclub fees!
