Headline News

Interclub finals
Am amazing 4 of our 7 teams have made the top two pennant play-offs with all our teams in the top half of the table. Only downside is that just Mens 1 finished top and get to play at home. Here are the teams in finals action this week;
  • Mens 1 (Ernie) vs Remuera Home (Tues)
  • Mens 2 (Graham) vs NS Away (Mon)
  • Womens 1 (Sam) vs BB Away (Mon)
  • Womens 2 (Shahrane'e) vs Henderson Away (Mon)
Novice mens league
This got off to a great start last week but there remains scope for ONE MORE PLAYER to join the league with the next round at 7pm this Tuesday. Obligation is to play 5 games over the next 4 weeks and gain some good match exposure against a variety of opponents.

Club Social
With three Winter 1 pennant titles and further Winter 2 pennant titles possible this week a social to celebrate is planned for the gap week between leagues on Thursday 29th October.

Spring interclub
Team entries are needed by Fri 25th Oct and we have already signed up a couple of new names and have three confirmed ladies teams for this module. Rsvp if you plan on either returning to the action or taking a break.

This will be a compact 5 week competition commencing 2/3 Nov leaving players in top shape for our Club Champs in the first two weeks of Dec.

Roofing news
I attended a site meeting with the roofers on Weds and it seems likely that the roof will be replaced over the summer break.

Welcomes & regrades

A big welcome to Alex Bloor who has joined the club to play in our mens starter league.

Well done to Matt Hawley who has moved up to C2 on the grading list;

And a special mention of Matt Hix who played two interclub matches this week to cover player absences. First for M2 at home and then for M3 at Papakura winning both matches. Top effort by a good club man!
COACHING - Oct/Dec

Good coaching numbers for the rest of the year encompassing beginner ladies & guys alongside some new juniors. Get in touch if you're missing out.
Although we retain top spot in the Club Refs table we have not had any further player gain the qualification in the past 4 months, It would be great if the two established interclub players without the qualification were to pass and also those ladies new to squash this past season.

Catch you in the week.
