Court renovations
Court 1 renovations are well underway and should be complete by the end of the week with a couple of further days needed beyond to remedy a couple of aspects. Like everybody I'm looking forward to getting all 4 courts back.

Local board presentation
I'm providing the Kaipataki local board with a club update on Weds at 7.10pm (c. 20 mins). No committee member is able to join me so if anyone else is able to come along and provide support and greater representation please let me know asap.

Annual club tournament (July 9/11)
It's been a slow build of entrants with 16 players registered of which half are from SP. Poster below with full details and I'd encourage enrolling via this link.

Penultimate round played last week with a mixture of results. Here's a quick synopsis;
W1: Riding high all comp, our ladies got downed 11/3 by top seeds Belmont. They're on a bye this week but will make the top 4 with a likely re-match in 2 weeks time to prepare for which should see the return of #1, Siri.
W2: Had their bye but remain top by 7 points and appear the best placed of all our teams for the finals.
W3: Beaten 9/4 by top placed Manurewa for their first loss in the league. Just need to win an extra contest should they meet this team again in the final as seems likely.
W4: Strong 11/1 win against another mid table team to almost certainly secure a top four spot. Have some work to do to reverse results against teams that have beaten them in the round robin.
M1: Drew 8/8 by Henderson but lost on points countback 191/190 to forfeit the bonus 2 points. Sitting credibly in 6th place so will just miss out on the finals.
M2: Impressive 14/5 win vs cellar dwellers, Kumeu to place 2nd ahead of playing the league leaders tomorrow. Geoff 2/2 for the week including a 5 setter in M1.
M3: Another 8/8 draw that went against us 192/177. A good win by Surya to make top seed for this team. Will need a strong win and other results to go our way to make the top 4 finals.

New members & grade improvements

A swathe of new members. Chelsea student, Isaac Paston, joins the club together with his dad Andrew. And partners, Kaustubh & Aparajitra, have enrolled and are likely to join either the Tues or Weds night club nights.

Congrats to Emily Tarbutton who's popped up to E grade following some good interclub results.
