There is much to celebrate on campus!

Thank you for your prayers and support during this season of New Student Outreach! We could not have done it without you! These past six weeks of fall semester have flown by but, it honestly feels like we have known these new students for years.

Re-launching Large Group this semester has led to the inclusion of more students who have never experienced a Christian community before. Third year transfer student John** has been one of them. As someone who has never thought much about religion and spirituality, he took an interest in Christianity this summer when talking to a Christian friend from childhood. His first InterVarsity event was our Large Group in August and now John** wants to continue learning about Jesus, making friends in InterVarsity, and even visit a local church with our students! God is drawing students to Him in unique and exciting ways that we can't even predict. We just have to keep inviting persistently, showing up faithfully, and waiting on the Lord expectantly!
We partnered with InterVarsity SCAD Atlanta for 23 Spiritual Formation Retreat on September 15. We went through Psalm 23 as a group and had various activities that engaged students in scripture, prayer and discussion. Deep community was fostered between our chapters!
The retreat compelled students to take the topic of Sabbath and rest seriously back on both campuses. Now at Georgia Tech, we are preparing for a Lunch and Learn on October 23 where Julian, our chapter president, will host a discussion about physical and spiritual health! Please pray for him as he leads.

What is Georgia Tech Thirsty For?

We had 100 spiritual conversations about physical and spiritual thirsts last month through the Thirsty Proxe, an interactive art display. It was to witness God work during our outreach and seeing student leaders take risks in sharing their faith with classmates! (I was so proud of their prayerfulness and courage!)

Gu**, a Chinese scholar, stopped by our Thirsty Proxe and I got to share the Gospel with him. It was the first time he had ever heard about Jesus and he was so excited to hear what Christians believe. Gu** had so many questions! "Can someone of my nationality, my ethnicity, my culture become a Christian?" he asked. We talked for thirty minutes and afterward, he went right to the bookstore on campus to buy his very own Bible
