Dear  <<First Name>>,

To celebrate our 17th birthday on the 3rd of February, we invite you to join our Virtual Meeting on Wednesday, February 3 at 6 pm PST via this Google Meet link:
We will be having some cake and tea, so make sure you have something sweet as well :-)

Since the beginning of the English Language Learners In-Home Program in 2004, our Program has grown from 6 students to serving a total of over 6,000 individuals and their families. We have assisted over 430 students to become US Citizens with the help of our incredible donors.

Thanks to you - either as a donor or tutor, or both 🥳, we are able to carry on providing help to the people in our communities so that they can speak English. These valuable language skills will allow them to achieve success in the workplace!

For example, our ELL student Rosie A. can now read bedtime stories to her children in English. It is obviously a great achievement for her, but it will also enable her children to have a brighter future! She also went to the public library to receive a library card, which may seem like an ordinary task for the average Joe, however it requires talking to strangers in English and can be frightening when one is not a native speaker. She has now adopted a new passion and visits the library regularly. Looking at her growth and accomplishments, we are very proud of her!

One of our other ELL students, Juan H. told us that his boss thought Juan knew enough English to give him the Supervisor position at work during his boss’s absence for a week. It is a great accomplishment when one of our students feels comfortable enough to be in a leadership position at work.  It requires a high level of confidence, because they must be able to react to any possible situation in front of others. Additionally, one has to step out of their comfort zone for that. Many people may not realize how much hard work is necessary to achieve this level of confidence and skill, so let's not take these moments of achievement for granted.
