EVENTS:
Our first event in Saint John went swimmingly, now its time for the second installment of the Short & Sweet Series. Bringing folks together to find out what our artistic peers are up to; bust everyone out of their studios to share our stories and perhaps a drink. More info! 

THIRD SHIFT 2016
19 Aug, 7 - 11:30 pm, Saint John
Third Shift, presented by Third Space Gallery, aims to inspire Saint John residents to reimagine their city, reclaim vacant and under-utilized areas and engage with the surroundings of the uptown built environment. Participating artists will reflect on the area’s cultural landscape and historic architecture to develop their projects and exhibit the works. This night-time art experience will be unique to Saint John.


RENDEZ-VOUS DES ARTISTES INC. 
19 - 21 Aug, 12 rue du Pont Saint-Léonard
Wander past the 100 or so booths and marvel at the talents of the painters and sculptors from New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, the United States, and even Europe. Delight in their wares as you feel the soft breeze blowing across the Saint John River.


CIRCLE & GREEN // MEMORY: TRANSFER, TRACE, TRANSITION OPENINGS 
19 Aug, 5 - 7 PM, Sunbury Shores, St. Andrews
This August and Fall the Charlotte Glencross Gallery will be hosting a split exhibition brought to us by two diverse artists, MJ Edwards (Mixed Media) and Sheri Larsen (Acrylic Painting.)


SAINT JOHN GALLERY HOP 2/3
19 Aug, 4 - 8 pm, Various Locations, Saint John
Join in the excitement of going from gallery to gallery to view the latest exhibitions, meet the artists and gallery directors/owners, enjoy some light refreshments, and delight in conversing with friends along the way.  The Gallery Hops are a popular event in Saint John.


LAUNCH PARTY: 2017 EDITION OF THE JONES GALLERY QUARTERLY
19 Aug, 8 - 10 pm, Jones Gallery, Saint John 
Please join Caleb and Sarah at the Duke Street gallery for the launch of the 2017 Edition of the Jones Gallery Quarterly. Caleb will be taking subscriptions, Sarah will be serving wine, and we will be revealing the 2017 theme.  (Maybe make it one of your stops on the SJ Gallery Hop!)


WATER STREET DINNER THEATRE PRESENTS: BAD MEDICINE
19, 27 Aug, 6:30 - 10 pm, Water Street Sinner Theatre, Saint John
A fun-filled evening featuring a three-act musical comedy and three-course dinner for $44.25 per person. Arrival Time: 6:30 pm
The show runs until 10:00 pm. Parental Advisory, Explicit Language.


SUMMERS END FOLK FEST 
19 - 20 Aug, Grand Manan
Founded on creativity, the arts and bringing music into the community of   Grand Manan.   Summers End Folk Festival, now headed into its seventh year was started with the hopes of being the basis of many ongoing opportunities and beginnings in the arts community on the Island. At the heart of the festival, you’ll find two things, a love for good music as well as the people of this community. This is our way of trying to do something positive and beautiful within the community.

Our Summer Hop exhibition featuring paintings by Elizabeth Grant, a new collection of jewelry by The Barber's Daughters and works in stone by Jim Boyd.


CAPE JOURIMAIN HOSTS ART AUCTION AND GALA EVENING 
20 Aug, 7 pm, Cape Jourimain Nature Centre, Bayfield
 An Art Auction and Gala to raise funds to restore their iconic lighthouse. The Gala evening features art donated by local and internationally acclaimed artists; some of the artists included are Andrea Blanar, Thaddeus Holownia, Istvan Zsako and Anna Torma. Cape Jourimain is a charitable organization with a mandate to provide programs that promote awareness and respect for local, natural and cultural heritage. 


GARDEN PARTY // "ITS IN OUR NATURE" AT HOOPER STUDIOS
20 Aug, 10 - 5 pm, Hooper Studios, Hampton
The beautiful gardens and property that surround Hooper Studios Gallery will be host to craftspeople and artists creating, doing demos and selling their wares. Stroll in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy light
refreshments and great company. In the Gallery, a new show begins. “It’s Our Nature,” will feature the work of more than 20 artists and craftspeople – each piece reflecting the natural world around us. 


RISING TIDE FESTIVAL
21 - 23 Aug, Fundy National Park
Dance and sing along as musicians from around Atlantic Canada join together to entertain you in Fundy National Park! Performances by Anglophone, Francophone, and First Nations musicians will reach out to the young and the young-at- heart in the relaxing and natural setting of the park’s outdoor theatre.


PAINTING CHARLOTTE COUNTY WITH VARIOUS TEACHERS
Aug. 22-26, 9-4 pm, various locations
We believe Charlotte County is one of the most beautiful places in the country to explore and paint. As a result
five Charlotte County artists are happy to invite you along to paint and explore some of their favorite places. One day you may be painting in a quaint seaside town and the next scrambling along the shoreline of one of the many islands that dot our coastline. This week is not so much instruction as an invitation to come and let your creative side explore this extraordinary place we call home.

DROP IN CYANOTYPE WORKSHOP 
21 Aug, 2 - 5 pm,  Waterfowl Park, Sackville
Join Sackville Waterfowl Park Artist-in-Residence Rachel Thornton for informal, drop-in cyanotype workshops. Learn how to document your favorite botanical species in the park, using one of the oldest forms of photography. Cyanotype harnesses the sun’s energy to make a white and blue image within minutes. Rachel will be set up near the covered bridge, but maps will also be placed around the park to help you find her.


WALK N' TALK W/ DAVID GOSS: AUTHOR'S RAMBLE & READING IN ROTHESAY
23 Aug, 7:15 pm, The Commons, Rothesay
The Kennebecasis Valley was home to two of the most prolific authors of all time, Louis Arthur Cunningham, and Dan Ross. Their life stories will be shared, and excerpts from their books read as we walk the Common and up Grove Avenue to finish at the Lawton home with snacks on the lawn.


HERITAGE CRAFT EVENINGS AT NBM:
25 Aug, 6:30 - 8 pm, New Brunswick Museum, Saint John
Heritage Crafting Evenings: August is Make your own unique scrap booking cards. Free in NBM Foyer. Small fee of $2 per project, or bring your own supplies. Don’t miss these evenings of friendship and fun. Ages 14 to adult. (Bilingual).

Join D’Arcy at the gallery for a chance to casually talk about a project you are working on. The Open Studio residency program at Struts & Faucet is made possible through the generous support of the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation, the Canada Council for the Arts, and the New Brunswick Department of Tourism, Heritage, and Culture.

The premier fine craft festival in NB held annually in the heart of downtown Fredericton. Juried members of the NB Crafts Council offer the best in pottery, textiles, jewelry, wrought iron, and much more. Come discover fine craft. a

KV JAZZ & BLUES FEST
31 Aug - 3 Sept, Various Locations, Rothesay/Quispam
The KV Jazz & Blues Fest is the highlight of the summer season in the Kennebecasis Valley. Events are held in Rothesay and Quispamsis, leading to the Blues Blast Finale at Vito’s on
the Saturday. What started out as a 3 venue event has grown to include 6 venues over 4 days. The sponsors are all involved in community events and fully support the Fest

WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP W/ DAN BURNS
1 - 2 Sept, Sunbury Shores Arts & Nature Centre, St. Andrews
Photographing the Bay Evening Presentation - Sept 1st - 7:00-8:30 pm. This evening talk will provide an introduction to the wildlife photography of Dan Burns. Bring the whole family to see our Bay of Fundy through a whole new lens! Photographing the Bay Morning Experience - Sept 2nd - 6:00-9:30 am. Meet here at Sunbury Shores at 6 AM for three hours of photography taking advantage of the early morning light. Then return to Sunbury Shores to discuss your photos with Dan.  He will give tips and encouragement on how to capture more fully the movements of the Bay.
