NYC Rally &
NYS Call-In Day

Rally: 23 July 2015 @ 6 pm
NYC/Union Square/E14th & Bway

David Pinero was recently sentenced to 210 days of 23+ hour isolation for testing positive for drug use. Before and after past 60- and 90-day sentences to solitary for drug use, David requested treatment. His request was denied, and he is now back in solitary. David also has an upcoming surgery for diverticulitis and Corrections plans on returning him to solitary after his surgery. Solitary confinement will not help him heal and recovery--David needs treatment, not isolation!

David is just one of thousands condemned to solitary confinement in NYS. Despite the findings of the UN Special Rapporteur, that stays in solitary over 15 days amount to torture, NYS regularly holds people in solitary for months, years, even decades.

We must end the torture now.
