Dental Assisting Program Moves Into New Space

Dental Assisting Program - New Space
South Central College’s Dental Assisting students began classes on January 9, 2017 in a new space on the Minnesota State University, Mankato Campus. The new Clinical Science Building has a dental simulation lab, dental materials lab, radiology lab and a 24-chair dental clinic. The new clinic will allow dental hygiene and dental assisting to offer clinical courses simultaneously and to offer more patient appointments to the community.

The official ribbon cutting was January 19th.

A group of SCC Agribusiness students and Megan Roberts, instructor, had the opportunity to learn about food, agriculture, and history of Peru with an international study opportunity that lasted 11 days over winter break. Follow the entire journey on the SCC Agribusiness Facebook page

This one-day professional development opportunity is designed for all agricultural producers, ag alumni and industry leaders. New Tools brings world-class speakers to the campus of South Central College for cutting-edge presentations and discussion.

SCC Alumni of the Year: Get Your Nominations in Now!


All of our alumni are amazing; however, we need your help to identify those graduates of South Central College (or any of our previous college names), who continue to go above and beyond in their profession and community. Please consider nominating someone today. The deadline is March 3.

Award recipients will join an elite group, and their success stories will be shared at the spring commencement ceremony to motivate new graduates to strive for their own success. Click on the following links to view the Nomination Form and Past Recipients.

Wine & Dine with SCC!


South Central College’s Culinary Arts program will host the third annual Savor, The Ultimate Wining & Dining Experience, on Thursday, March 2, starting at 6 p.m. at Chankaska Creek Ranch & Winery.
 
Gourmet food will be paired with an array of handcrafted Chankaska wines for you to savor. The expertise of renowned chefs Michael Broughten and James Hanson will be complemented by the skills of up‑and‑coming chefs in SCC's Culinary Arts program to provide our guests with an unforgettable dining experience.

The event will begin with an unveiling of the heavy hors d’oeuvres and wine at 6 p.m. A dessert auction will begin at 7 p.m.  All proceeds will benefit the Culinary Arts program at South Central College.
 
Cost for the event is $75 per person. Advanced reservations required. Please call 507-389-7446.

SCC Online Auction Underway


The South Central College Annual Online Auction has begun!  The auction contains 200 items ranging from restaurant gift cards to weekend getaways and more. 

Bidding will continue through February 9, 2017 (8 p.m. CST). The online catalog can be viewed by visiting www.biddingforgood.com/scc. If you are interested in donating an item, please call Martha Johnson, 507-389-7446. We will continue to add items to the auction as they are received.

Please place your bids and encourage your friends to be involved or make a donation… all proceeds benefit scholarships and programs at SCC.

Remember When | Visions of Flying CarsSeventy years ago when MAVTI, now SCC, the first technical school in the state of Minnesota opened its doors, trained Auto Body and Auto Service Technicians were in demand. We may not be using flying cars yet, but technology has definitely changed and the career is still in demand.
