What Your Eye Reveals

What stands out in this iris?
When I look at this photo the thing that stands out for me is—
The dark ring at the outer edge of the iris.
This is known as a scurf ring and indicates that the person’s skin is compromised. This can show up as skin rashes, pimple outbreaks, or it can be that the person’s skin is not breathing as it should due to the type of clothing the person is wearing or creams and ointment that they are using on their skin.
Our skin is one of our organs of elimination, the others are—
  • The bowels
  • The kidneys
  • The lungs.
When the skin shows up like this in an iris photo it is always important to assess the other organs of elimination as the skin is either getting more to do because they are not working as well as they should, or the other organs are not working as well as they should and the skin is being compromised.
The skin is often referred to as the third kidney, so a good place to start is checking how much water the person is drinking.
Our skin is also the barrier our internal organs have to the outside world and you can almost see that this person is shrinking back inside. This reflects that on some level the person has had something happen that has caused them to shrink from revealing their true self.
If you would like to know what your eyes reveal and what you can do about it then book an appointment with me, I have been using iridology for over 20 years and taught it at local naturopathic colleges.

Skype Appointments

Skype appointments have now been recognised as a valid way of conducting an appointment by my professional association and as such are now available. They need to be booked like a normal appointment and charges are the same.
You will need to check with your health fund as to whether you will get a rebate for a Skype appointment. A Skype appointment can allow you the luxury of having an appointment in your own home and it can be a great way to get back on track when timing can make a physical appointment difficult. If you would like to book a Skype appointment please email me so that we can set this up.

Stress Reduction Tip - Listen to Music

What music touches your soul? Is it soft and gentle music or are you a rock child. Do you like to listen to music with or without someone singing?
Our taste in music can be so different, however, music is something that can really touch our soul and uplift us, relax us and take us to another place.
Sometimes music evokes memories, good or bad, of childhood, previous relationships or the challenges in our lives and our successes.
What type of music do you love?
Benefits of listening to music include-
  • Music relieves anxiety, studies show listening to music can physiologically ease stress and even reduce depressive symptoms
  • It can put you in a good mood and reduces depression
  • It alleviates mood whilst driving
  • Keeps the brain healthy in all age groups
  • Music can be motivating during a workout run or bike ride
  • It can improve your sleep
  • Lowers stress
  • Improves athletic performance
Today's technology is great as it allows us, access to our favourite songs and we can listen to different playlists so you have music to suit your every mood. Dancing or moving to music is also very healing. So next time you are feeling stressed think about what music would help you - and actively listen to it.
The gluten free Expo is on again at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. It is always great to see new products being released. Please note though just because a product is gluten-free does not mean that it gets a health tick - many are very processed and have high amounts of sugar - choose your food well.
24-25 March 2018 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre

Your inner self KNOWS

Find the keys to using your Intuition!
Have you ever followed that hunch — or wished you had?
Have you often gone a different way than you had planned only to find out later that was a good decision?
Have you ever rung a friend and they have said: “I was just thinking of you?”
As we go through life we are taught to be logical and make choices based on our analytical mind and then often feel that something isn’t right — or we will often say: “I knew I should have followed my intuition”.
Intuition is often talked about as our gut feeling or insight. If you know something without knowing how you know it, this is your intuition at play.
This 6-week course will give you the chance to explore different avenues of your intuitive self and develop your strengths.
Developing your intuition will lead to—
  • Having greater clarity
  • Making wiser choices in all areas of your life
  • Developing self-trust and confidence
  • Quietening your inner chatter
Join the fun - take your first step today — no experience needed.

Essence of the month - Mimulus

Mimulus is in the fear category and is for all those known fears we have - Fear of the dark, fear of spiders, fear of snakes. Fear is often what holds us back from moving forward.
This one one of the first three essences that Edward Bach discovered. He had been working as a doctor, homoeopath, bacteriologist and decided that he wanted to use a system of healing that was more natural and didn’t use toxins and used some of the beauty of nature. He initially came back with three remedies and used these to treat his patients. His results inspired him so much that he went on a search for further flower essences and so became the birth of Bach Flower Essences.
The Mimulus person lives in a state of fear most of the time, they are timid, overly anxious, worried about everyday life and small events and introverted.
As their fears grow they want to withdraw from everyday life and become more introverted, timid, shy and fretful.
Fear makes everything harder to do and much worry is about things that will never happen.
Fears will include - cold, dark, illness, pain, death, accidents, spiders, mice, poverty, humiliation, violence or violation.
A courage blend can consist of Mimulus combined with:
  • Clematis - to help ground us.
  • Larch - to give us confidence in ourselves.
  • Walnut — to help you feel safe as you go about taking those steps — it will help keep stead-fast as others try to put doubt in your way.
  • White Chestnut — to help release all those negative thoughts that continue to go round and round in our head.
Flower essences are amazing as they help us address emotional issues that take the zest and joy out of our lives.
You can use a single essence or combine up to five different essences in a dosage bottle.
If you would like a Self Confidence blend or would like to know more about essences please send me an email

Question of the Month

Q: How often is it recommended to do a parasitic cleanse?
A: Parasites love nothing more than to live in an environment where they have an endless supply of healthy food - which usually means sugar.

It is common to think of parasites as being a third world issue however they are far more common than most of us realise and very easy for one member of a family to pass to others.
Whilst we may think it is terrible to think that we have parasites or worms, they are very common in today’s society - as adults, many common symptoms may be caused through an infestation of parasites or worms.
Parasites are organisms which must live and feed on another organism to survive. They live and feed on the cells, tissue and fluids of the host, and the host is often harmed in the process.
Worms or parasites can enter the body through several avenues and if conditions are favourable they rapidly multiply. It has been reported that 58% of the world's population has worms or flukes without realising it!! And each adult parasite can lay 2000 eggs a day.
Eating pork (especially ham and bacon) and shellfish that has not been well cooked, or raw fish has been known to lead to parasitic invasions. Vegetables that have not been properly washed and cleaned may also hide eggs.
A bout of gastro, or sometimes consuming water from overseas can trigger a parasitic infestation.
Personal hygiene is most important as worms and parasites may also be contracted through improper disposal of human or animal waste or even walking barefoot on contaminated soil. However, it is also possible to inhale eggs or have them burrow through our skin
Pinworms are the most common worms in Australia. Pinworm eggs are tiny and the female travels down our digestive system to the anus and lays her eggs at night. This causes intense itching which means the bearer scratches, and gets them on their hands and under their fingernails, this allows for easy transfer back into the digestive system, However eggs can be in the bed linen and when the bedding is shaken they float through the air and are easy to inhale by anyone in close proximity. Eggs can also be left on anything that is touched - so whilst hygiene and hand washing are really important so is getting rid of them and breaking the cycle. It is also really important if you are gardening to wear gloves. I know that it feels great to have the soil and dirt on our hands, however, we feed our soil manure (it is animal poo) and it is also the toilet of all the pets in your neighbourhood- and they often have worms!
I think it makes a lot of sense to do a parasitic cleanse once a year. However, if you have recently travelled to an area where you might be exposed to parasites please do one straight away on your return. Also if you have had recent gastro it is worth doing an anti-parasitic. If you have pets or regularly travel overseas I recommend doing an anti-parasitic 2 times a year.
Next month I will discuss symptoms that occur with a parasitic infestation.
Do you think you would benefit from an anti-parasitic protocol? Be sure to ask for more details when you see Caroline at your next health check.
