Further details can be found later in the newsletter. For the month of March, this is available for $5, on 1 April 2019 it will revert to $10. Read more in this newsletter.

    What Your Eye Reveals

What stands out in this iris?

When you look at this eye what you see are lines radiating out from the pupil. These are called radii solaris (sun rays) and now more frequently called radial furrows.

The radial furrows represent a channel for the toxins from this person’s digestives system (the inner part of the iris) having an avenue to leak out into the rest of the body.

Symptoms will depend on which areas the furrows traverse. Usually, they are through the brain area and common symptoms are brain fog, where you have difficulty thinking clearly and headaches.

    Stress Reduction Tip - Gratitude

    What is Gratitude?

Gratitude is an emotion expressing appreciation and thanks for what one has, as opposed to what one wants. We all have times when we feel aware of being thankful for a person or a situation. These moments give us a good feeling that we call ‘gratitude’.

Studies show that we can deliberately cultivate gratitude, and can increase our well-being by doing so.

In addition, gratefulness and especially the expression of it to others is associated with increased energy and optimism Other words that may describe gratitude include:
    • acknowledgement
    • appreciation
    • grace
    • gratefulness
    • praise
    • thankfulness
Cultivate your gratitude; write down 3 things you are grateful for each day. You may choose to start the day with gratitude or finish the day with gratitude.

Question of the month — What is Leaky Gut?

‘Leaky gut’ syndrome is a term used to describe increased permeability of the bowel wall or bowel hyperpermeability.

The bowel wall is lined with cells that have small gaps or junctions to allow nutrients to pass into the blood system. In leaky gut syndrome the gap between these junctions increases, as a result of this particles pass into the bloodstream that would not normally be found there.

‘Leaky gut’ syndrome is considered a factor in the development of many health issues. Leaky gut syndrome allows substances such as larger food particles, toxins, heavy metals, undigested food, microbes, waste products to escape the bowel and circulate in the body. Because these particles are not normally found in the body they start immune and inflammatory reactions. Allowing large particles of food to enter our bloodstream also means that these food particles are not broken down enough and this affects our nutrient absorption so we become deficient in many nutrients, the most common ones being iron, magnesium and vitamin B12.

Next newsletter I will discuss why leaky gut occurs.

Essence of the month - Australian Christmas Tree

The Australian Christmas tree is eye-catching when in flower, it is a bright beacon of orange and this is more noticeable as it is often found in very dry areas of bush.

One, often unknown fact, is that the Australian Christmas tree is a parasite. It is thought to be the largest in the world. The parasite is hidden underground where the Australian Christmas tree roots will slice through roots of other plants, grasses, carrots, shrubs, and trees to feed off. It can attack plants over 100 m away.

The roots have been known to slice through electric cables and cause blackouts when it has mistaken a cable for a plant's root.

Each tree sends out lots of roots attacking multiple plants and it will form a collar around its victim. This collar has a series of blades that operate inside it to access the root structure of the other plant, It then sucks water and nutrients from the host. It is important to note that it doesn’t kill the host.

As an essence, it is to help those who have others drain their energy. You may find that when you are around certain people you feel drained and exhausted. Christmas Tree essence will help release the negative ties that may have been attached to you so you feel energised and free.

A great essence for empaths who are easily affected by the energy of others and places.

"Releasing Blend" is a combination of Australian Christmas Tree with Boab for releasing karmic patterns and Fringe Violet for strengthening and repairing our aura.

"Releasing Blend" is available as a dosage bottle or as a spritzer combined with Shungite water and a special blend of essential oils.

You can use a single essence or combine up to five in a dosage bottle.
If you would like a “Releasing Blend” blend please send me an email

Essence Blend - Gentleness and Love

"Gentleness and Love" is an essence blend created after discussion with a colleague on the blocks that we create in our lives due to occurrences that occurred in our life either when we were in utero or early in life.

As adults, there is no way that we can recall these situations however we can often feel stuck in life and feel we are repeating the same patterns over and over. However, we can often see that these are patterns that our parents also carried out and that we are caught in the stream and continuing that pattern on.

For clearing early childhood patterns that have been imprinted on the subconscious, so that you can now move into the real you.

"Gentleness and Love" essence blend includes:

    • Evening primrose
    • Mariposa lily
    • Pink monkeyflower
    • Walnut
    • Star of Bethlehem
    • In Rose quartz water to help us love and accept ourselves as we are.

    Today I asked my body

Today I asked my body what she needed,
    which is a big deal
    considering my journey of
    not really asking that much.
I thought she might need more water
    or protein
    or greens
    or yoga
    or supplements
    or movement.
But as I stood in the shower
    reflecting on her stretch marks,
her roundness where I would like flatness,
her softness where I would like firmness,
    all those conditioned wishes
    that form a bundle of
    she whispered very gently:
Could you just love me like this?

    Brain Health

If you know someone who has Alzheimer’s disease you will know how devastating it is to them and those who love them. To see someone who is able to function in society no longer be able to look after themselves is heartbreaking.

This month the focus is on vitamin B12. It is often thought that only vegans and vegetarians become deficient in this valuable nutrient, however, many others do as well. The reasons that vegans and vegetarians become deficient in vitamin B12 is that it is only found in animal products, so those who do not eat animal products are advised to supplement their diet with this nutrient.
A deficiency of Vitamin B12 has been associated with everything from premature ageing, brain fog, cognitive decline, memory issues, heart disease, stroke and vascular issues, to learning disabilities, and infertility. Vitamin B12 is needed to convert homocysteine into methionine and so a deficiency in vitamin B12 is associated with learning and development issues in children as well as adults, poor immune function, autoimmune disease and cancer. Studies have shown that B12 deficiency in later life actually leads to brain atrophy (shrinkage), dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease regardless if people are “healthy” or not. Elderly people who simply lack B12 are at risk of developing what German researchers refer to as “irreversible structural brain damage.”

Your body depends on vitamin B12 for a host of functions, including…

    • Maintaining normal energy levels — physical, emotional and mental energy
    • Promoting mental alertness, mental clarity, concentration and memory function
    • Supporting healthy heart function
    • Helping to ease stress and insomnia
    • Promoting normal immune function
    • Supporting healthy digestion and absorption of food
    • Proper circulation
    • Support of female and male reproductive health
    • Mood regulation

Without adequate blood levels of B12, you can experience symptoms related to low energy, brain fog, dizziness, fatigue, mood changes, sleep difficulties, as well as issues with memory and cognition.

The level of vitamin B12 in your system may be diminished by many medications including alcohol, antibiotics, the oral contraceptive pill and medication used to treat blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and digestive complaints.

If you are considering taking a vitamin B12 supplement some things to consider are-

    • The supplement is taken sublingually in a lozenge that you suck under your tongue and allow it to dissolve there.
    • For best absorption use a methylated form, methylcobalamin, because it bypasses several problems in the B12 absorption cycle.
    • Dosage is usually 1,000 mcg (1 mg) of sublingual methylcobalamin a day,

If you are struggling with your memory or have a family history of Alzheimer’s disease come along and talk to me about what you can do to keep your brain in good health.
