Last Solar Tour of the Season!

September 28, from 10:30am-12pm at the MEC rooftop!

RSVP at gosolartour.eventbrite.ca to save your spot!

September 14, 2014 marked a record for the Go Solar tours as more than 60 people came and filled the roof deck of the MEC building, enthusiastic to learn about ways to become Fossil fuel free.

Last Sunday was the third of four dates that made up the Go Solar tours, an initiative created by SPEC, in partnership with Bullfrog Power to raise awareness about alternative resources for our city.

Each tour includes both a presentation of the newly installed solar panels on top of the MEC building, located on 130 West Broadway, and a discussion given by SPEC's President, Rob Baxter, that spans both practical and educational tips such as: identifying different solar panels, making solar panels at home and moving away from fossil fuels and into renewable resources.

Matias Vallejo, one of the survey participants, mentions that the practical experience he learned was the best part of the tour, while Kathleen Dalzell shares that she really liked learning about the different kinds of solar energy.

If all this news excites you, and you'd like to learn more about this initiative, it's not too late yet! There will be one more Go Solar Tour on September 28th, from 10:30-12pm. Come take part in our growing community! RSVP here

If you'd like to book a private Go Solar tour, please contact Sara Blenkhorn at green2go@spec.bc.ca!
