CITY OF MERIDIAN SEEKS CANDIDATES FOR PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
 
MERIDIAN – The City of Meridian is currently accepting applications for individuals interested in serving on the City Planning and Zoning Commission. The Planning and Zoning Commission is seeking to fill a vacancy with an engaged resident, interested in the planning and zoning process and subjects. This commission serves an advisory role to the Meridian City Council in matters relating to land use, zoning, transportation, and housing issues as framed by Meridian’s Comprehensive Plan and provides final action on discretionary permits.
 
Eligible applicants must live in the City of Meridian or in the City's Area of Impact and have resided in Ada County for two years and within the Area of Impact for at least one year. Meridian’s Area of Impact is identified as the unincorporated area in white on the map located on our website here, within the dotted lines.
 
Commissioners are required to remain a resident in the area during the term of service. The Planning and Zoning Commission meets the first and third Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at Meridian City Hall. 
 
Successful applicants will be appointed by Mayor Simison and confirmed by the Meridian City Council. More information about the Planning and Zoning Commission can be found here. A link to the application form can be found here. In addition to the application, a letter of interest and resume should be submitted with the completed application. Applications can be submitted online here or delivered to Mayor Simison at Meridian City Hall, 33 E. Broadway Avenue, Meridian, ID 83642. All applications should be submitted by close of business on Friday, August 19, 2022.
