Bird Silk-screen Prints by

Robert Gillmor MBE

Printed by Emily Gillmor

10am 1st  NOVEMBER 2019

We are so pleased to announce this very special exhibition with Robert Gillmor. Many of you will know how Robert has suffered with his health over the last 18 months; we believe part of his incredible recovery is due to his desire to return to his studio to make art. Sadly, the rigorous process of lino-printing is too much for Robert now, instead, with the help and encouragement of his daughter Emily, he has made a stunning collection of silk-screen prints.

In an attempt to make things less hectic, you can start buying prints either by phone
or email from the 1st November.
As usual, Robert will be keeping a few surprises for the actual exhibition.

As an experienced printmaker, Emily Gillmor has been a champion of the silk-screen process, a medium revived by the pop artists in the 50s, including Andy Warhol – although screen printing appeared more than 1,000 years ago in China’s Song Dynasty. Emily has been printing Robert’s designs, making each edition between 15-35. Emily has been doing this as well as her own artwork and is currently a part-time sessional lecturer in print-making at Reading School of Art.
