News from the Studio
I am happy to say it's been a productive month in the Studio. I have several projects on the go and I will share some of them with you in the next newsletter. In the meantime, I want to thank all of you for your feedback on my new website! I appreciate you taking the time out of your hectic schedules to write and to be a part of the Caprice Fine Art & Co family! I also received an email with feedback about this newsletter being difficult to read. I have made some adjustments and I do hope that the font is easier on the eyes! If you have trouble reading this newsletter, please do let me know and I will continue to fix until the problem is solved. I want this newsletter to bring joy and not difficulty!
Do you remember the 'Water Lilies' painting that I posted partially finished a few months ago? Well, I finally finished it! Even though I have been painting for 20 years I still like to push myself creatively and this painting certainly wound up being one of those challenges. I was ready to torch the thing several times and had to ask myself "why on earth do I have to challenge myself with such a large canvas?". In the end I was thrilled I stuck to it! Would you believe it has already been sold? Wow! It was inspired by my trip last year to Butchart Gardens in Victoria, BC. What do you think?

Paintings from the Vault!
There is something magical about painting on location, but it has it's hazards! This painting was done on location at Lost Dog near Kimberley, BC in October of 2000. Near the end of the day I backed up from the painting to look at it from a distance when a big gust of wind came along and of course the oil painting landed face down in the gravel! I took the painting home and allowed it to dry. The gravel added a marvelous texture to the painting. It sold through a gallery to a couple from the United States.

Here I am painting at Lost Dog on a beautiful fall day.
This past month I had a lovely lady come for lessons as her son and daughter-in-law bought her a gift certificate for Christmas. As Mother's Day approaches, don't forget that we do offer
gift certificates for art lessons, as well as for original paintings. Please go to our website for more information.
Yes, summertime will soon be here! I love this time of year as I always look forward to having visitors to the Studio during the summer months. The Studio is looking good and is in ship shape! I am also gearing up for the monthly art markets in the Platzl but I will post more info in my next newsletter.
For the most part, the Studio will be open daily starting June 1st with the exceptions being market days and the odd painting trip. If you will be in town and don't want to miss me please email or phone to book an appointment or...take your chances!
