Critically acclaimed book The Auschwitz Volunteer: Beyond Bravery.
The Wall Street Journal’s “Five Best” feature named The Auschwitz Volunteer: Beyond Bravery by Captain Witold Pilecki (published by Aquila Polonica Publishing) one of the five best books on wartime secret missions! It has also garnered rave reviews from major media, including the New York Times where it was an Editors’ Choice, the New Republic, the Atlantic, Publishers Weekly, Tablet Magazine, etc. Furthermore, The Auschwitz Volunteer took home the PROSE Award from AAP as well as a IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award! Aquila Polonica Publishing is an independent publisher specializing in publishing, in English, the Polish World War II experience—a part of World War II which is virtually unknown in the West. They have been a loyal member of IBPA since 2007.

This month, Marilyn Gottlieb debuts her first novel, Dance Me Younger. You may have seen it featured on a billboard in Times Square! Ms. Gottlieb started her writing career in the mid-1970's with comedy columns. Since then, she has published numerous articles in magazines and literary journals. She was also a VP and SVP at two multi-billion dollar international advertising agencies. Her achievements don't end there. She has also been proudly inducted into the YWCA's prestigious Academy of Women Achievers, and is a member of the Board of Advertising Women of New York.

IBPA member Fiza Pathan has been quite the busy lady! This year she has won 9 prestigious international awards. Some of the more notable awards include taking home the gold medal in Nonfiction at the 2016 Readers' Favorite International Book Awards for her book Classics: Why we should encourage children to read them, and earning the title Best from Asia at the 2015-16 Reader Views Literary Awards for her book Amina: The Silent One. Congrats, Fitza!

Laura Atkins' debut title Sled Dog Dachshund has received a remarkable response this year. The title has been included in the Hot Off the Press reading list curated by the Children’s Book Council (CBC). It was also featured in “Fall Must Reads" by Connie's Club and in “3 Adorable New & Upcoming Children’s Books” by The Reading Room. Laura is also an award-winning editor with a track record of over 25 years in books.

The Florida Authors and Publishers Association recently held another phenomenal annual conference in Orlando! Speakers for the two-day event included an intellectual property attorney, a representative from the Ingram Content Group, an expert in media book marketing, advice on free social media tactics, success stories from both an author and a publisher, and panels on outsourcing and niche markets.The weekend culminated with the annual FAPA President's Book Awards and Banquet.
