Dear <<First Name>>,

Welcome to Independent Publishing Now!, IBPA's monthly e-newsletter featuring the hottest news and information from IBPA and its members.

August has been action-packed for the IBPA team! Earlier this month, we sat down with IBPA's board of directors to work on advancements to IBPA's member types and benefits that will make this coming year an exciting time to be a part of IBPA. We also jetted off to Salt Lake City, Utah to attend the American Society of Assoiciation Executives' (ASAE's) Annual Conference and learn new way to provide even better service to IBPA members. Overall, August has been a month for putting into action our mission to lead and serve the independent publishing community through advocacy, education, and tools for success! We're very happy to serve.

The IBPA Staff from left to right: Paige Greco (Administrative Assistant), Joanne Kenny (Member Benefits Liaison), Angela Bole (CEO), Mimi Le (Project Manager), Terry Nathan (COO)

IBPA members can send notice of their accomplishments (TV appearances, special mentions, book signings, etc.) to Paige Greco at We look forward to featuring you in a future issue!

Inside, the writer takes a tour through each stage of publishing while filling in the details of his or her own unique journey. English was inspired by one of her many rescue animals and even featured them on the book’s back cover. A Home for Kayla is another fabulous collaboration between Kim and illustrator Yis Vang. Yis has also illustrated the cover of  Kim English’s YA novel Coriander Jones Saves the World, which won second place in the Royal Palm Literary Awards in 2014. It was also a Next Generation Indie Award Finalist.
Top selling author Kathryn Kemp Guylay.
Give It a Go, Eat a Rainbow (recently published by Healthy Solutions of Sun Valley) made it into the #1 Release in two categories on Amazon this past month! Author Kathryn Kemp Guylay credits IBPA's resources on marketing and publicity (notably webinars, IBPA Independent magazine and Publishing University conference) as giving her publishing platform the strategic advantage needed in today's crowded marketplace. "I have learned so much about how to create a launch plan and build momentum around a publication date from the many resources available through IBPA," says Kathryn. IBPA is thrilled to know we've been able to help Kathryn through her publishing journey. We also want to congratulate her on a successful book launch!
