Welcome back!

If you're anything like me, you're already feeling the BACK TO STUDIO PRESSURE (yay!). I'm attempting to alleviate that by working on my deck in this fabulous weather. Sadly, I am still working in this fabulous weather rather than truly enjoying it.

BUT ENOUGH ABOUT THAT.

We've got other things to discuss. Not the least of which is our upcoming (I know November seems like it's far away at the moment, especially given the aforementioned weather but - trust me - IT IS UPCOMING.) Vocal Showcase!

Scroll on down for lots of juicy details (or something like that), plus some other points of consideration as we head into the new season.

See you in November!

Wilfrid Laurier University
17th and 18th November

REGISTRATION
Registration has been open since the end of August (yes. THAT LONG.) and closes in roughly four weeks, on Friday, 12th October. If you have not submitted an email address that is different from the one you use for NATS membership, please do so ASAP, either by emailing auditions@natsontario.org, or by filling in this form. Once you've done that, go on over to Auditionware.com to start registering your students.

FEES
Please note that, as voted on in our Spring AGM, there has been a slight change to the fees structure. Registration fees are:  $20 (for Middle School) | $25 (for High School) | $30 (University). AND? The fees are in CANADIAN funds again.

ACCOMMODATION

NATS Ontario has reserved a room block at the Delta Waterloo at a reduced rate of $175 per night, which includes one free parking space per room. Cutoff date for this rate is 16th October. Call 1-888-236-2427 or book directly online.

NEED MORE INFO?

As always, check NATSOntario.com for more information, or feel free to pose questions on the NATS ON FB page so questions can be answered publicly. Chances are? If you're wondering, so are a lot of other folks.

When I was at #NATSLasVegas in June (which, by the way, I lead the Canadian National Anthem at the Opening Ceremonies, and they took a big ol' picture of me doing so, which graced the NATS FB page for a hot second or two #sofamous), I attended the SNATS Luncheon and learned a few interesting things that you might be interested in.

Did you know?
  • independent teachers can start a SNATS chapter
  • SNATS Chat is a thing! (It's like a NATS Chat, but for SNATS.)
  • conference sessions can be made available to show at SNATS Chapter meetings FOR FREE
  • SNATS Members can apply to the National Office for funding to go to Regional Auditions
To my knowledge, there are THREE SNATS Chapters in Ontario: If you are interested in becoming involved with any of these SNATS Chapters, I know they all would love some more members!
^ just a little reminder ^
I hope you'll consider registering students for the Alliance for Canadian New Music Projects's Contemporary Showcase Festival, which occurs the week after the NATS Ontario Vocal Showcase every year. The Contemporary Showcase Festival is a fantastic way to celebrate contemporary Canadian compositions and this year's Advanced Vocal Masterclass Technician is Adrianne Pieczonka! Go on over to www.acnmp.ca for more information.
NATS Ontario is SO grateful to everyone who continues to contribute to the NATS Ontario Scholarship Fund ... and sends a SPECIAL thanks to Joan Heels for her ongoing donations without which we would not be able to do what we do!
