Bridgevine Acquired By Updater
We are excited to announce that Vocap portfolio company Bridgevine was acquired by Updater, a New York software company focused on relocation services for movers, for $75M.  Bridgevine’s subscription home services commerce platform will be integrated into Updater’s B2B software solution to create the most robust and simple buying and scheduling experience for the 17M annual movers in the U.S.

The combined entity will reach approximately 50% of U.S. households that move. Through its multi-channel platform, Updater enables movers to research, compare, and purchase home services such as internet, TV, home security, energy and home warranty services.  Bridgevine’s management team will remain with Updater, and Bridgevine’s CEO Sean Barry will serve as President of Updater Home Services.

Vocap Investment Partners invested in Bridgevine from its initial Fund I and was highly active in the portfolio company.  Vinny Olmstead served as Chairman of the Board and helped the company with its strategic roadmap.  The outcome was quite positive for Vocap, which earned a strong multiple on its investment.

Vocap wishes the best of luck to the Bridgevine team, including Sean Barry, John Pumpelly, Travis Priest, and Joh Caplinger.  We also offer thanks to Bridgevine’s advisors - SunTrust Robinson Humphrey and Trenam Law, specifically Nelson Castellano.
