Wake to Washington

#stfh

“I’m trying to sell anything I can sell”

Safer in the suburbs? Not necessarily

While densely populated cities see infectious diseases spread at a faster rate than rural areas, the suburbs aren’t necessarily safer environments to try and isolate (or receive treatment).

Washington health clubs

On the topic of healthcare: middle-to-high income residents are increasingly grabbing memberships in practices like One Medical, which take a fee but simplify the paperwork.

How to ̶h̶a̶v̶e̶ ̶a̶ ̶s̶t̶e̶a̶d̶y̶ ̶w̶e̶e̶k̶-̶l̶o̶n̶g̶ ̶p̶a̶n̶i̶c̶ ̶a̶t̶t̶a̶c̶k̶ work from home!

Emergency & You

Hang out on Hangouts

A baseline assumption: “Your social life is going on hiatus.” But you can still have a social-distanced birthday party. Some select quotes recalling the Hangouts surprise party: “When I opened the link, I expected to see just one face, but then all these boxes started popping up, and there was a rush of noise.” “Then we just kind of sat there staring at each other waiting for her, drinking Coronas and hovering over the cake, waiting to light the candle.”

More you can do remotely

If you've never taken advantage of DC Public Library's incredible collection of ebooks, movies, audiobooks, and even online courses, now's the perfect time to start. (Since libraries are currently closed, you can’t get a new library card if you don’t already have one—maybe time to rekindle things with that bookworm friend?)
