Fix the US with this one easy trick!

While we wait around for DC statehood, let’s collectively ponder the implications of Harvard Law Review’s restrained policy proposal to solve our representational woes: amend the Constitution, reduce the District to cover just a few Brutalist government buildings, and convert the remaining neighborhoods into 127 separate states. Though some are definitely on board with the idea, first we’d have to reach consensus on DC neighborhood boundaries and names. Swampoodle statehood now!

We’re #1! We’re #1! (in bed bug infestations)

Troubling news from the Orkin man: DC leads the nation on the pest control company’s annual list of most bed bug infested US metro areas, finally stealing the title away from Baltimore. Jury is out on whether any of the city’s attempts to combat bed bugs will make a difference, but for now, we’re losing the war against a formidable enemy that has been around forever.

The Go-Go Museum?

Last week, the DC Council made go-go our official music. Longtime community figure Ron Moten wants to commemorate it with a museum at his Check It! Enterprises building in Anacostia, a venture on track to open this spring.

Turn it into a nonprofit or make it a public service. ShareNow, Car2Go’s parent, is leaving North America.

265 square feet

Finally, an answer to Alexandria’s 7-foot-wide Spite House (allegedly built by petty visionary John Hollensbury to keep wagons and loiterers out of his alleyway): you too can pay an ungodly amount to live in a tiny abode, no grudge needed.
