CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS

UUSC 78th Anniversary - Justice Across Borders - Bread Sale 11/18/1. Please join us in supporting the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) with a bread sale and Guest At Your Table (GAYT) kickoff on Sunday, Nov. 18th. We ask that you donate and purchase a loaf of bread. Our children will be distributing the GAYT boxes. Information will be available on the humanitarian work of UUSC both here and abroad. As fear of the other and violence rips through our communities there has never been a more important time to take action and to Rise Up On The Side Of Love.

Attention Board Members please note that your mail slots in the hallway have been updated to reflect the new members. Some may have changed where they were recently. Please check weekly and weed out any old papers.

Policy on Politics and Lobbying
As a reminder this election season, the church is a non-profit organization and therefore, there can be no advocating for or against candidates for public office on our grounds. Please see the entire policy here.

Interested in Updating Our By-Laws?
The Board will soon be assembling a task force of committed members to examine the church's by-laws, and develop proposed updates for congregational approval. More information on this to come shortly.

GETTING TO KNOW YOU
Sara & Ryan Miller
*Both of us (Sara and Ryan) grew up in the Catholic Church but as we got older, found that it didn't resonate with our values. We came to UUUtica in November of 2016 in search of a spiritual home and community for our growing family.

*Ryan is the Director of thINCubator and is a community connector. He is committed to helping make our area a vibrant place to live, work, and raise a family. With a background in higher education, Sara is now a full-time mom and part-time yoga teacher, offering classes at In Bloom Yoga, Retro Fitness, and with various organizations throughout the area. Also a co-founder of the Utica Yoga Project, Sara is passionate about making yoga more accessible for all while supporting local organizations. Sara, Ryan and Ani all enjoy good music, food, wine, friends, family, and outdoor adventures.

*We value the freedom of supporting and nurturing our spiritual lives without the requirement of adherence to doctrine and dogma. Over the last two years, we have loved this exploration as well as the opportunity of getting to know members of the UU community. We also appreciate the way that children are integrated into the service and hope that this practice will continue as our children grow in the UU church.

November we will be collecting First Aid Supplies: peroxide, alcohol, antibiotic ointment, band-aids, gauze, tweezers, nail clippers, emery boards etc. (goal is 100 items)

We always collect non-perishable foods in the kitchen.
See our current items collected here!
