October 20, 2019 “Everyone Is Welcome” Rev. Erin Dajka Holley                       Who’s in? If it is possible to belong to any given community or group, someone invariably is left out. We as Unitarian Universalists put forth an intention to be all-inclusive. And, yet, we fall short. What can we make of this? We will also welcome new members during this service.

Church Activities/Events

Monday, October 21st, 6:30-8:30PM, Harvest The Power: Lay Leadership Class
The Nominating Committee is pleased to offer a four week leadership course (Mondays through Nov. 11th), Harvest The Power (Part I), which provides leadership skill development that goes hand-in-hand with faith development, helps lay leaders grow in spirit as they grow as leaders, and addresses the reality that today’s leaders operate at a time of rapid cultural change, both in and outside our congregations. If you might be interested in this course, please contact Melissa Barlett

Hello Climate Action Members & Friends,
I hope you can join us this week, 1 week early because of Cluster at Little Falls Oct. 27. We need to consider the offer of a Climate Adaptation speaker, and a theme for this coming year.
Two themes have been suggested by members: Developing local resiliency (which fits nicely into Adaptation) OR Food & its effect on Climate (A deeper look than we took a year ago). We will meet about 11:45. Please bring your coffee hour treats in to the meeting. We ALL send our best wishes and healing thoughts to Jay and Debra Hagenbuch, on Jay's illness. Hope to see you Sunday! Barb Freeman
We received a note from Mrs. VanDuren & our friends from MLK thanking the congregation for your donation. They are so appreciative for having such wonderful neighbors.
Please consider attending and representing UUUtica at the NY State Convention of Universalists Annual Meeting, Oct 25-26th, in Rochester NY. Details below or see Nancy Bender for more information.
