Greetings in the name of the Lord!
Please, remember this date: October 1, 2014. More later, but first…
I write to you on the heels of a historic event, the Centennial Celebration of the Assemblies of God (AG 100). What an experience, to gather with delegates from 120 nations to thank the Lord for what God has done through our fellowship.
From the very beginning the Assemblies of God assigned a high priority to missions. In the inaugural year, the General Council of the Assemblies of God made the daring proclamation, “We commit ourselves and the Movement to Him for the greatest evangelism the world has ever seen.” Some would say that missions is our highest priority. The fruit of missions was on display throughout the AG 100 celebration, as we heard testimonies to the grace of God from every corner of the world. From a small gathering of three hundred Spirit-filled believers in Hot Springs Arkansas in 1914, the fellowship has grown to more than 67,500,000 adherents worldwide in 2014. The harvest is being gathered!
Back to that date: October 1, 2014. By faith, we have committed ourselves to President Gary Seevers, that we will be available to begin our ministry at Global University on that day. Several hundred dollars remain to be committed in monthly faith promises. We need the Lord’s help and we need your help. First, if you currently support our ministry on a monthly basis, we are grateful more than words can express. Will you pray fervently that God will provide the remainder of the monthly support required?
Second, if you have sensed a desire to make a commitment, now is the time for you to take that step of faith. Just this morning, I was reminded of Paul’s word of encouragement to the Philippians, “And with all his abundant wealth through Christ Jesus, my God will supply all your needs.” (Php 4:19 GNB) I pass that encouragement to you—may God richly bless you as you faithfully serve the Lord. Third, please consider praying with us. “Pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." (Mat 9:38 ESV) To date, 170 persons have committed to pray for laborers every Wednesday throughout 2014. If you would like to join the prayer team for laborers, please visit prayforlaborers.com and sign up for a weekly email reminder. God is building the workforce that is building the Church. We are humbled to be a small part of God’s work of building leaders and sending laborers into the harvest.
Thank you for your partnership in the gospel.
