A Good Night's Sleep
How to get one every time
Hi, EFTer,
If you have problems sleeping, this is an important issue of my newsletter for YOU!
As you probably already know, lack of sleep affects:
- Physical health (especially cardiac health, diabetes, weight gain and stroke).
- Mental health (brain fog, trouble concentrating, skewed judgement, learning difficulties) and
- Emotional health (anger, depression, anxiety)
It can even kill your sex drive!
Here's a link to WebMD for more info on its multiple effects:

Differentiating the Symptoms
When is sleep an issue?
There are many ways that sleep difficulties can manifest themselves: trouble falling asleep, a light or bad quality of sleep, waking in the middle of the night and not falling back to sleep and waking up too early and not being able to get back to sleep... to name some of the most common. Often people suffer from more than one of these symptoms.
You can try EFT on any or all of them.
Sometimes we are stressed or obsessing about something and, if we take a little time before we actually try to go to sleep to ask ourselves the question: "Is anything on my mind?", we can then tap on the thoughts that are over-stimulating us before turning in. Once in a while, it's even the positive thoughts of a fun and exciting up-coming event (wedding or party) that are keeping us too excited to sleep.
If we wake in the night and can't go back to sleep, we can simply tap the points either physically or mentally (tapping only in our imaginations generally works just as well and often better in cases like this). This option can be used when we wake up too early also. Always check for over-stimulating thoughts at these times of waking and tap on them if you identify any.
For the issue of light sleep, sleep where you don't feel rested, sleep that makes you doubt you've actually fallen asleep at all, this may be a result of a general hyper-alertness or simply of a particular stressor, depending on how long it's been going on and many other factors.
I wouldn't want to second guess this so, if some tapping before bed doesn't help, I suggest a consultation with an EFT practitioner or an appointment at a sleep lab to see what might be going on.

As we can never have too many tools in our toolbox, I want to offer a non-EFT option for this problem as well. I came across this 4-7-8 breathing technique that might also help, especially the "falling asleep" aspects.
Read this useful article and give it a try. A friend of mine told me it has really helped her out:

If you're struggling to find sleep, I hope that something I've shared here will make a difference.
If you need some support or coaching in how to use EFT or you want to find the root of what's causing this issue, book a session and we can explore it together.
Cyber hugs,
Kelly. xo
