College Media Business and Advertising Managers

(Nathan Laursen, Marissa Neeley, Emma Olsen, Ethan Babcock)

Three Student Media students spent one week in Fort Worth, Texas attending the 45th annual College Media Business and Advertising Managers (CMBAM) conference. Seminars included how to increase sales in print and broadcast for student media, graphic design, and marketing.

Students from all over the country came with their advisers from various student newspapers. They gathered together for the three-day conference to network with recruiters from national media businesses presenting the seminars and recruiting graduating seniors.

Seven members of The Utah Statesman spent their spring break in sunny Las Vegas this past month, covering the USU men's and women's basketball teams in the Mountain West tournament.

Along with the usual game previews and recaps, the group streamed pre and postgame shows on Facebook Live. The final pre and postgame shows were also aired live throughout Cache Valley and online via Aggie Radio 92.3, KBLU-LP.

The USU spirit squad was also featured, as the cheer and dance teams participated in two service projects to help underprivileged youth and adults. All the content was compiled into an insert, which ran in the first issue of the paper after spring break, as while as being disseminated in various ways on www.usustatesman.com and social media.
