Great Day of Service. What a great day! Last Saturday over 90 members and friends went into the community for nine service projects. Thanks to our organizers, Terri and Chip Sakakeeny! Thanks also to the Outreach Committee, our breakfast cooks Jerry and Jeremy Court, Dwight Langsdale, team leaders, and all volunteers. Photos are posted online (more will be added).
Our summer worship schedule begins in a few weeks on Sunday, May 26 (Memorial Day weekend). We will have one service at 10:00 a.m. (no Sunday School). The summer schedule runs through Labor Day. We return to two services on Sunday, September 8.
Time and Talent forms for 2019 will be filled out and collected at church this Sunday, May 12. Each member (including children) is asked to complete the 2019 form indicating how you wish to serve in the upcoming year. Please complete a new form this year since there are numerous changes. You can fill the form out online, too, using your PC, tablet, or phone at
A call for assistance this week! Are you available to help finish getting the GRACE Transition Apartment we've adopted ready? There are just a few more things to do before someone gets a new home (light carpentry skills needed for some):
  • Install three door handles
  • Make cabinet and drawer template and install knobs and pulls
  • Hang three curtain rods
  • Attach headboard and foot board to a bed frame
  • Mount TV to wall (TV and mount at apartment)
  • Paint new cabinets once installed—projected date is May 8
A big thank-you to everyone who has donated goods and/or contributed their time during the Great Day of Service! Please contact Kim Haggerty if you can help.
Nominees for Church Council. We will be electing new Council members at our congregational meeting on June 16. If you would like to be nominated to serve on the Church Council, please contact a member of the Nominating Committee: Kenn Mingus, Chad Nelson, John Nelson, or Pastor Nick. You can also indicate your interest on the Time and Talent form.
VBS hosts needed. We are looking for one or two homes for our five Briarwood counselors to stay during the week of July 14-19. This means that the counselors will sleep and eat breakfast at your house, but they will have their own modes of transportation. If you're interested in helping our VBS ministry in this way, please let Taylor know as soon as possible.
Mother's Day brunch. All women of the church are invited to a Mother's Day brunch this Saturday, May 11, at 10:00 a.m. We will celebrate our moms and also each and every women who serves us with her participation, kindness, hard work, and dedication. It's your day! A delicious brunch of quiches, pastries, muffins, fruit, and beverages will be provided, and Pastor Nick will entertain us with Bible Jeopardy. Come join the fun, ladies of all ages!
