Change is just a transformation of one thing to another; I feel that I am in that process in so many levels in my life. One of them being in my art. This past month I have been learning so much about art and artists throughout the world from an artist friend. It has been refreshing, enlightening, and very enjoyable to learn about the masters of art, and see what I can glean from them for creating my own art. One of the main things I am learning about is colors and their relationship to each other. I have been using color intuitively. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Having an understanding of colors and light and dark contrasts can make a wonderful outcome in your art. I have so much to learn, but it has been a welcome exploration, for it is helping me to see the world in multiple colors.
Below, "Interlace" is a wonderful example of using contrasting colors (Blue and Yellow/ Reds and Greens) and light and dark shades of each color.

Learn what you can about the art you love to create. For example, I am learning that I have been creating Primitive art or Naïve art,
this is helping me to find references on past and present artists who create this art. Even though my art is a bit different, I can grow in understanding how others see Primitive art, and it may help me express my creativity with an inner consciousness that I might not have had before. Explore the past artists and present ones, and open up to new possibilities of growth in art and in yourself. This is what makes life exciting.
