"Soaking up the Sun"

Creative Contemplation
Looking into the vastness before me
I see an ocean of possibilities
Should I jump in,
and begin to create?
In creative contemplation
a struggle arises within
when the mind declares I am ready
as the heart cries out take the leap
I tell my mind that I must,
and affirm to my heart that I will
Together we then agree
t0 plunge into creativity.
This year I have decided to really savior creating art.  To work on a piece, until I am pleased with the finish product.  "Soaking up the Sun” has been one of these pieces.  Inspired by a photograph I took in one of my travels a few years back.  I knew how I want to create it, and I began, but moving didn't allow me to give it the attention it deserved, so I put it aside.  The past couple of months I finally took the time to creatively express the beauty the of turtle, and its surroundings.   At times, I thought I was done, but something else called to be added.  I am glad I took the time to go back to it, and add a bit more of this and that.  I have to say that I am pleased with the outcome, as that turtle looks so content on the log "Soaking up the sun. "
I want to thank all of you who continue to enjoy my art, who at one time or another have taken a class or workshop with me, and those who have given my art a home.  You have allow my art, poems and stories to be a part of your lives.  Creating art is a gift that connects me to myself and to all the wonderful people that I have an opportunity to meet along this creative journey.  THANK YOU!!!

Enchanting Hyacinths

I probably will never be tiered of creating flowers.  Each season brings inspiration.  I am fascinated by their shapes and colors.  This year spring has been slow in coming to the Midwest, but I did catch a glimpse of some hyacinths, and they inspired me to recreate them.  What fun I had making them.
