August Photo Recap

August is generally a quieter month in the Seattle dance world, but we still managed to find a variety of performances, from flamenco to durational art, on local stages. We also heard an update on Westlake Dance Center's search for a new home; got the inside scoop on Au Collective, Seattle's newest troupe; and cooked up a new event for this fall (details below!).

Let's Talk about Dance!

SeattleDances is excited to announce DanceCHAT, a new monthly event in collaboration with KT Niehoff. DanceCHAT is an informal gathering to discuss what's happening on Seattle stages. September is chock-full of shows (just look at the line-up below) and we want to talk about them with their choreographers, their dancers, and their audiences. We hope you'll join us for some delightful dialogue each month to recap the goings-on in Seattle dance.

Blast from the Past!

CabinFever has been delighting Seattle audiences for several years, and last August saw them kicking off their first tour, Salutations: {a tour through your departures & arrivals}, with a performance in Roger Thorsen's historic family home in Carnation, WA. Since their tour this summer didn't have a stop in Seattle, we'll have to content ourselves with reminiscing on this heartfelt performance.
