July Photo Recap

You may think July is a quiet month - you're thinking of August - but take a peek at all the performances that happened (including SeattleDances' own Up For Review event; more on that below). July saw contemporary ballet and ballet history; the annual Maximum Velocity with Strictly Seattle and Seattle Festival of Dance Improvisation; a Butoh festival; and an evening of dance films.

Up for Review (in review)

Many thanks to those who attended our workshop: Up For Review this July. We had great discussions about dance media in Seattle, how to communicate with the press, and tips and tricks on writing press releases. If you missed it, check out our live tweets from the event at #UpForReview, and keep an eye on our Resources page for video footage and the documents we handed out coming soon!

Blast from the Past!

The Royal Society's Southland {this is what I know about love} is an example of the combined power of painstaking artistry and word of mouth. The event, a mix of dance, song, art, and story, was held at Portal Studio in the Greenwood neighborhood. The first two nights were so packed, the group added another weekend.
