Call for Coaches
9th-14th Grade
If you're interested in coaching our top teams (1st and 2nd team, 9th-14th grades) in 2014, can you please email Lorraine Bowring at lorraine@upperhuttcityfootball.org.nz asap and no later than Thursday 23 January 2014. There will be a meeting of these coaches on 1 February. Please include a brief summary of your coaching experience and qualifications and the team you'd like to coach.
Last season's coaches please confirm whether or not you are keen to carry on.
There is an expectation that these teams will be training at least twice a week from March. Where NZ Football coaching qualifications are required, we will work with you to achieve those (if you don't already have them).
We are also keen to hear from any of our players (youth and senior) who want to develop their coaching and/or refereeing skills.
Please note, coaches and managers may be asked to agree to a police check for the coming season.
For more info or to apply for a coaching position, please contact Lorraine, lorraine@upperhuttcityfootball.org.nz .

Junior Registrations and "Give It A Go Day"
Saturday 1 February 2014 | 10am-1pm
Maidstone Park
Mark your calendars now! Junior registrations open 1 February. You can register online or in person at our Open Day.
This is also the perfect opportunity for anyone who hasn't played for us before to come along and check out our awesome facilities at Maidstone Park, find out more about our development opportunities (including the All Star Academy and Girls' Development Squad) and learn some tips and tricks from Director of Coaching, Pedro Garcias and other senior players. We'll have demos, competitions and prizes to be won. A fun few hours of football!
We're particularly keen to encourage youngsters aged 4-7 to give football a go so if you know anyone in this age group, please do tell them about our Open Day.
You will also be able to register at the Clubrooms on Tuesday, 4 February from 6pm-8pm.
Note, trials for our graded teams will start Saturday 8 February, so you MUST be registered before then if you wish to trial.
Fees for the season are still to be finalised, but if you have any other questions regarding registration or what the club can offer your child, please contact Debbie Wooller, Registrations Officer, debbie@upperhuttcityfootball.org.nz .

Manchester Utd Premier Cup
- Global U15s Competition
The Manchester Utd Premier Cup (otherwise known as The Nike Cup) is an international U15s boys' competition, featuring over 8000 of the world's best U15s teams from over 40 countries.
UHCF is intending to enter this competition, with the first trial for the squad at 5pm, Thursday 16th January, at Maidstone Turf. Players from last year's 14th JPL, 14th Promo and 13th Grade JPL teams should already have received an email with further info. If you haven't and wish to be considered for this squad, please urgently contact Gillian Patterson, gillian@upperhuttcityfootball.org.nz
Note however, there are restrictions on which players can represent the club in this competition:
"players must have been registered with the club as of 30 September 2013 and can only play for the club they represent in the MUPC for the duration of the 2014 season, including U17 & U19 (unless they are a guest player for a club at the Napier City Rovers tournament)."
Just something to think about if you were considering leaving us this year ;-)
In the meantime, you can find out more about the competition here.
