Exciting News!

Maine Center for Elder Law Joins Perkins Thompson, P.A.

We are pleased to announce that Maine Center for Elder Law is now a practice of the Portland law firm of Perkins Thompson, P.A. This combination brings together our specialized elder law, long term care and special needs planning with Perkins Thompson's well-established trusts and estates practice. Since 1871, Perkins Thompson has been providing outstanding legal services to U.S. and Canadian businesses, institutions, governmental entities, and individuals for nearly 150 years.

What does this change mean for you? The strength of not one but two dynamic firms, creating greater value. Perkins Thompson's established real estate, business, land use, and litigation practices expand the services that Maine Center for Elder Law can offer its clients.

Maine Center for Elder Law maintains its name and main office at our Kennebunk location, and we will continue serving our community in Portland at the offices of Perkins Thompson, One Canal Plaza on the 9th floor.

So, the more things change, the more things stay the same! Other than the opportunity to offer our clients and prospective clients with expanded services through Perkins Thompson, you will notice little difference working with us. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know!

Maine Council on Aging

State Plan on Aging Listening Sessions

The Department of Health & Human Services has announced the dates for listening sessions throughout the state during the month of October. These important sessions will help inform the State Plan on Aging, a plan created every four years that specifies how federal and state funding will be used to address the needs of Maine's aging population.

The State wants to hear from older Mainers, caregivers, providers, adults with disabilities and any one else interested.
