JWF Monthly Advocacy Issues Update

Dear JWF Trustees and Friends:

We are pleased to share the Advocacy Committee's February update highlighting our grantees and issues impacting Jewish women and girls.

On Monday, February 29th you have the opportunity to dive deep into one of the priority issues for our Foundation, Illinois' Religious Refusal Laws: Implications for the Jewish Community. As you know, for the past two years JWF has funded the ACLU’s work on this important topic. Working with the JCRC/Government Affairs Committees, we have put together a group of key thought leaders to help us grabble with the implications of current Illinois law and opportunities for change. We will hear the legal, legislative, and Jewish perspectives.

As Trustees, mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, and cousins, we need to know how this law affects our families and our community. I hope you will join us. Register now!

As always, please feel free to pass along any information you think we should share with our Trustees.

Fondly,

Nancy Kohn, Advocacy Committee Chair
Sara Kalish, Senior Program Officer

P.S. You are invited to join a group of Jewish leaders on the annual advocacy mission to Springfield, IL on May 4th and May 5th. Do not miss your opportunity to advocate for our concerns with the Governor, members of his administration, and with members of the Illinois General Assembly. If you are able to attend, JWF will be able to provide you will specific briefing materials on our advocacy agenda so that you are prepared. If you haven't already, sign up here for the Mission.
