JWF Monthly Advocacy Issues Update

Dear JWF Trustees and Friends:

We are pleased to share the Advocacy Committee's November update highlighting our grantees and issues impacting Jewish women and girls.

We are also delighted to spread the word that Lorie Chaiten, director of the ACLU's Reproductive Rights Project, will be honored on  Thursday, January 21, 2016  by Planned Parenthood of Illinois with the Dr. Marvin Rosner Lifetime Achievement Award for her relentless commitment to justice for women from at their annual Roe v. Wade event.

Please consider joining fellow trustees and others to learn about the first ever community-wide survey on the lives of Jewish teenage girls living in Chicagoland on Sunday, December 13th from 3:30-5:30 at DePaul University.  This new, peer-led, well-researched evidence on the needs and experiences of Jewish teen girls, can be used by Jewish community professionals to improve the programs they offer for this population. Topics covered include Mental health, Relationships, Jewish Identity, Gender and sexuality, and Privilege and power.  Please register here.

As always, please feel free to pass along any information you think we should share with our Trustees.

Fondly,

Nancy Kohn, Advocacy Committee Chair
Sara Kalish, Senior Program Officer

P.S. If you haven't seen the Hunting Ground, it will air Thursday, Nov. 19 at 8:00pm Central on CNN.
