We are pleased to share the Advocacy Committee's June update highlighting our grantees and issues impacting Jewish women and girls. This month’s issue highlights national headlines on matters that JWF has been working on for many years.
JWF grantee, The Roger Baldwin Foundation of the ACLU, passed Senate Bill 1564, which amends the Health Care Right of Conscience Act to ensure that when medical providers have religious objections to providing care, patients have access to all of the information they need to understand their medical choices. Take action and urge Governor Rauner to sign Senate Bill 1564 via email or phone (217) 782-0244, (312) 814-2121.
As always, please feel free to pass along any information you think we should share with our Trustees.
I am excited and delighted to serve as the next chair of the Advocacy Committee. An enormous thank you goes to Nancy Kohn, past Advocacy Committee Chair, for her tremendous leadership. We will all benefit from your expertise and wisdom in your new role as Chair of JWF.
