Spicy boiled crawfish are served at the annual Mudbug Madness festival in downtown Shreveport.

An Insider’s Guide to
Mudbug Madness Festival

One of Shreveport-Bossier’s largest annual festivals, Mudbug Madness, will return to downtown Shreveport’s Festival Plaza, May 26-29. The 33rd annual Mudbug Madness will feature three stages of live music including Cajun, zydeco, blues and rock, as well as crawfish-eating and crawfish-calling contests, children’s entertainment and more. Noteworthy live music headliners include GRAMMY-winning zydeco artists Wayne Toups (8 p.m., Thursday, May 26) and Terrance Simien (9 p.m., Friday, May 27), as well as country legends Shenandoah (9:30 p.m., Sunday, May 29). For a complete schedule of live music, visit the festival website.

In addition to outstanding live entertainment, Mudbug Madness is known for its incredible food and drink offerings. From steaming platters of spicy boiled crawfish to Cajun and Creole favorites such as jambalaya, Creole sauce piquant and alligator-on-a-stick, the food offerings at Mudbug Madness provide a fun opportunity to sample many of the dishes that make Louisiana a food lover’s paradise.
