Smart Commute is organizing the party at Clear Creek & Federal Station (located at Federal just south of 60th, near Federal and I-76).  We will have live entertainment, food trucks, and lots of free give-aways.  Keep an eye on our Facebook Event Page for more information as we get closer to this event.

Other parties will be happening along the line at 41st & Fox Station, Olde Town Arvada Station, and Wheat Ridge & Ward Station.  Rides are free all day on the G-Line, so start at Clear Creek & Federal, and then party-hop by train to see everything that is going on that day.

For the fourth year running, Smart Commute will provide free FlexRide trips for Water World employees all summer.  Water World employees will only need to book their trip with RTD, and show their employee ID when they board.

This project has always been a collaboration between Smart Commute, RTD, and Google; annually, it carries hundreds of trips, often reducing or eliminating the need for busy parents to chauffeur their kids to and from work.

At the Regional Transportation District, the safety and security of our riders is a top priority. With the G Line opening on April 26, RTD wants to remind the community to be safe on and around trains, tracks and crossings. Please review and share the following safety tips as we prepare for opening day.

Platform Safety
  • Stay behind the yellow line at all times.
  • Never sit on the platform edge or touch the outside of a train.
  • Do not approach the train until it has stopped completely and the doors open.
  • Mind the gap. Watch your step while getting on and off the train.
  • Walk–do not run–on the platform. If you miss a train, wait for the next one.
Train Ride Safety
  • Train doors close automatically; stand clear and listen for the warning chime.
  • Take time to review the Emergency Procedure signs posted in each train car.
  • In the event of an emergency, notify the train operator using the emergency intercom at either end of the train.
  • Do not lean against the doors and hold on at all times when standing as sudden stops may occur.
  • Store luggage and large personal items in the designated storage areas and do not allow them to block walkways and doorways.
 Train Track Safety
  • Cross only at designated crossings and follow traffic rules.
  • Never walk, play or bike along the tracks - it is illegal and dangerous.
  • Get off your bike, scooter or skateboard before crossing - wheels can get caught in the opening next to the rail.
  • Look both ways before crossing the tracks - trains can travel from either direction at any time.
  • Do not try to touch or throw objects at the trains or overhead power lines.
For additional safety tips, or to take RTD’s safety pledge, visit our Partners in Safety web page. Please contact with any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your continued support in making our transit system safe for everyone.
