Smart Commute is seven years old!  Stop by Facebook or Twitter to share memories!
Save the Date!  Smart Commute will host our 7th TransForum on Friday, April 26. Stay tuned for an upcoming announcement about this year's exciting location, and save space on your Friday for this always-fantastic event!
On January 29, RTD took a first step toward testing new first/last-mile solutions by deploying the agency's first fully-autonomous bus route, the 61AV.

The route is extremely simple and runs in an area where there isn't very much development yet - the Panasonic campus, where Smart Commute hosted our sixth TransForum.

Through this test, "the stakeholders will be able to demonstrate the autonomous vehicle technology and assess the benefits it could provide in meeting future mobility needs of the metro region" (RTD).

We will be watching this test eagerly to understand how the implementation of new technology can help to address the mobility needs of people in our area - something we've been highlighting at our annual TransForum gatherings for years now.
This year, Smart Commute is hosting a new lecture series, and you're invited!  We will be featuring four topics that we are frequently asked about:
  • Transit Passes 101 - RTD Programs for Employers
  • Get Caught Up on (not caught up in) Commuter Tax Programs
  • Commuter Myth Busters
  • Come Snow or More Snow - Teleworking and Productivity
Lunch will be provided to those who RSVP for these lectures, and space will be limited.  If you are interested in being the first to know about these presentations, contact Carson.
Winter Bike to Work Day has come and gone...and our region placed first in the International Challenge!  It was five-degrees, and stout riders still braved the chilly air.  Our favorite comment:  "The city (Northglenn) did a great job clearing the trails, it was dry pavement the entire way!"  Check out some of our favorite photos from Twitter, and see who was photographed in our Facebook post.
In February, Smart Commute, Way to Go Vanpool and VanGo visited Seagate in Longmont to talk about vanpooling, which is a particularly good option for their location.

During the presentation, employees were able to ask direct questions about things like how they could get home in the middle of the day, how pricing and discounts work, and the role that pre-tax commuter benefits play in vanpool costs (they're 100% eligible, by the way).

Smart Commute was especially thrilled to meet "Ebb" and "Flow" - Seagate's two security robots, who patrol the parking lot.  Check out this 18-second video (the future is here!).

If you think commuting is a dry topic, you should contact us to provide you with an insightful presentation for your next brown bag seminar.  From featuring real-life inspiring stories, to talking about the Tragedy of the Commons and network efficiency, we guarantee an interesting and memorable presentation (for all the right reasons).

Contact Smart Commute to discuss the kind of presentation that would work for your group!
