Smart Commute's Seventh TransForum event was a packed event and received a lot of positive feedback from attendees.

Amazon DEN3 General Manager, Clint Autry, welcomed attendees, noting that this event is the first of this kind to be held at any Amazon distribution center

Following Clint, RTD General Manager Dave Genova spoke about the opening of the G-Line and all the transit progress RTD is making.

Charles Bowers with Amazon/CBRE talked a little bit about Amazon's approach on the national level to addressing employee commuting, even taking a straw poll of the room to see how attendees arrived.

Finally, MobilityNext's President, Jim Doyle, talked about how people are "predictably unreliable" when it comes to behavioral economics, and how the ever-changing landscape of transportation options is making it easier than ever before to get around without a personal automobile.

Finally, attendees "suited up" in bright yellow safety vests to tour Amazon's DEN3 Fulfilment Center.  For reasons of both safety and proprietary information, attendees were not allowed to take any photographs.  The tour covered the entire facility, with over 26 miles of conveyor belts, package-moving robots, and thousands of individual employees working as a team to send out thousands of packages each day.

Smart Commute would like to praise the incredibly helpful, welcoming, and gracious employees we worked with at Amazon.  We haven't been at a workplace quite like it before, and we did not meet a single employee who did not radiate hospitality and happiness.

On April 27, Smart Commute hosted a celebratory G-Line Party at Clear Creek & Federal Station.  Passengers of the G-Line were able to enjoy a live Mariachi band, an Aztec Blessing, and and a commemorative tile-painting craft for kids.  Check out photos from the event on Facebook, and videos from YouTube (below).
The Aztec Dancers, Grupo Tlaloc Danza Azteca, included the crowd as well, and a few entrepid attendees joined in the fun, which got intense with some hopping on one foot while spinning.

The Mariachi Band, MSU Mariachi Los Correcaminos, sang and played beautifully for the crowd.
Smart Commute was pleased to attend the annual DRCOG Awards Dinner, Thrive, on May 3.  We celebrated the City of Thornton's Kent Moorman, who received an award for Distinguished Service.
Mark your calendars for this year's Bike Party.  We are working hard to bring back the usual fun event, and then some:  Slow Races for adults, a bike course for kids, and more (maybe even a beer garden!).  Details are still being solidified, so keep an eye on the event page for more information (and don't forget to register for Bike to Work Day).
