Leap Day is upon us.
It is time for an update!
This year has taken off with rocket like propulsion. Here are some things I've been up to since 2016 rolled around:

~ Performed Beauty with Jane Comfort and Company at University of Rochester and Raritan Valley Community College.
~ Started teaching Ballet for Contemporary Dancers at Velocity Dance Center Wednesdays at 4:30. Come by!
~ Continued challenging the students at Bainbridge Dance Center to move in new and exciting ways.
~ The documentary Enter the Faun, which I helped produce and appear in as a dancer, was screened at the Dance on Camera Festival in New York City.
Needless to say, I've been thoroughly enjoying the wide range of activities I've been privileged to be a part of and there are a few upcoming projects in the Seattle I'm happy to share with you.
Firstly,
SATURDAY February 20th from 7-9pm
I am performing in a work by Coleman Pester and Ethan Folk entitled,
PYLON I
at the Olympic Sculpture Park
2901 Western Ave, Seattle, Wa
Admission free. Reservations encouraged.
Secondly,
April 7th, 8th and 9th at 8pm
I am performing Beauty with Jane Comfort and Company at the Meany Studio Theater at University of Washington in Seattle
Tickets available here.
Thirdly, but not lastly,
I am making a commitment; a commitment to producing a new piece entitled Place of Refuge. I have engaged the incomparable performers Roxanne Foster and Brandin Steffensen to explore the ways we hurt, heal and hold each other in contemporary society. We will be researching through March and will host a showing later in the month to share what we have discovered. Dates to come.

A major part of committing myself to producing new work  is raising the money needed to compensate the artists I engage with. If you are in a position to support the creative machinations of artists in pursuit of the muse, please make a tax deductible donation via my fiscal sponsor, Fractured Atlas, by clicking HERE. Your well spent dollars will go directly towards artist pay. If you would prefer to donate in another manner please contact me.

For inspiration, consider this quote from The Prophet by Khalil Gibran.
"And if there come the singers and the dancers and the flute players, buy of their gifts also. For they too are gatherers of fruit and frankincense, and that which they bring, though fashioned of dreams, is raiment and food for your soul."

Many thanks to those who have invested in my dreaming and sampled my soul food. I can't do it with out you.
As always, I keep you in my thoughts as we hurtle through space-time. I hope that you take advantage of your leap day by doing something ridiculous with great energy.

Yours in love and mystery,
Lucie Baker
