New Year, New Mindset
"Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions." What a wonderful point by the Dalai Lama. If you really want a Happy New Year - it's up to you. It's our mind that creates this world. 

Of course many things such as politics and world events are beyond our control - I'll not say much about this as this post 'The Single Most Important thing you can do in 2018', says what I want to say - we are all connected (inter-being) but it's not a reason to despair.  What we do on a daily basis affects not just our lives but the lives of those around us.  

Starting with the suggestions from Action for Happiness calendar above is a good way to go. Try the first three and let me know how you're feeling afterwards!
1. Find three good things to look forward to this year.
2. Look for the good in others and notice their strengths.  
3. Do three extra acts of kindness for other people.

Everyday is a chance to begin again, everyday is a chance to reset our mind in a positive direction and it matters what we do everyday. Each time we come back to the present, each time we see something positive we are creating new neural pathways in our brain. How amazing is that?!

Of course you don't have to change - you are wonderful the way you are - but we can all do with a little refinement! If you haven't already attended my 8-week MBSR - it's the best course I offer to help you restart the year and re-wire your mind for happiness and contentment. Namaste Mindfulness classes

This 6-week introduction to mindfulness practice class is back in 2018 and it's still only £48. A really accessible easy course - it's suitable for both experienced practitioners and complete beginners. Come along to start your new year with more presence! As always this course will sell out, so please book asap.

and THANK YOU to everyone who came along to the free Charity Class before Christmas. It was lovely to see old and new faces! Via online and in class donations we raised £268.75. You can still give directly to Helen's effort to raise money for Hospice UK via running the London Marathon London marathon here.
8-week course Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC)
Eight Tuesday nights @ The Lagan Weir, Belfast City Centre, beginning 16 January 2017 also includes a day retreat at Dromantine, Newry on Saturday 17 February.
Only a few spots left on this course as I'm the only person qualified to teach it, in Northern Ireland, it's really popular and taught in the exclusive location of the Lagan Weir, Belfast - pic above is of some of the group who completed the last session and got a special tour of The Weir too! I do recommend doing an 8-week MBSR first but you are welcome to apply if you are strongly interested in becoming more self-compassionate.
