We hope that you're having a wonderful summer, even if that means getting in some really late season skiing. As we commemorate our nation's birthday on July 4th, we prayerfully endeavor to create a more perfect union that is loving and just "to the least of these."

Have a blessed July!

General News

Affordable Housing

Please take a moment to review the latest e-newsletter from the Close to Home Colorado campaign. The Colorado Council of Churches is a proud member of the campaign, and we thank the many churches who have joined the campaign, and have given our storytellers an opportunity to share their experiences with homelessness.

Seeking congregations to shelter homeless families.

Family Promise of Greater Denver (FPGD) exists to serve families experiencing homelessness by providing shelter, meals, and supportive services on the path to self-sufficiency. Since 1997, faith communities have provided temporary homes for our neighbors, and Family Promise has a need for additional partnerships in 2018. Host congregations shelter families in Sunday school rooms, meeting rooms, and other spaces for a week at a time, usually 4-5 weeks per year. Volunteers provide meals, drive the Family Promise vans to transport guests, and surround families with compassion. In 2018, congregations supported 64 families with over 40,000 volunteer hours! Together, we can end homelessness, one family at a time. Please contact Allie Card at acard@familypromiseofgreaterdenv.org or 303-675-0713 Ext. 101 for more information.

The 2020 Census is fast approaching and the stakes are high. Colorado currently gets over 8 billion in federal dollars and an inaccurate census count will deny money for schools, roads, and transit to Colorado communities in every corner of the state.  It's critical to have an accurate count!
