NOW THE DUST OF MAD MARCH HAS SETTLED THERE'S NO excuse to not embrace the bountiful food and wine offerings throughout the state. Why not visit one of the new bars popping up around town? They're so nice and cosy as the weather cools. Alternatively shop at your local farmers' market and prepare a feast for your own table or perhaps an Easter picnic. There's so much to see and do (and eat and drink) in our wonderful state.

An international flavour 

Lambert Estate Wines is a young Barossa winery that is participating in the Barossa Vintage Festival for the first time this year. It is creating a unique Peruvian event, Pachamama, that will tie together the Lambert Estate winemakers’ backgrounds and celebrates their new, state-of-the-art cellar door.

A fine history 

You don't have to head far out of the city to happen upon one of Adelaide's most iconic fine dining destinations. Lenzerheide, in a converted villa on Belair Road at Hawthorn, is heading into its 27th year in business. Food and beverage manager Mark Gaston gives SALife some insights into what it takes for a restaurant to succeed over three decades.


A new lease on life 

Just because the small bar scene is taking off in Adelaide, don't be fooled into thinking the only cool places to be seen are intimate. Electra House has launched and the heritage-listed venue boasts entertaining across three levels, including a modern Greek restaurant headed up by Spanish chef, Alfonso Ales.

Everyone has their favourite recipes - those go-to dishes that always please the audience. Whether you're cooking for two or a crowd, you'll find some of our favourites being shown again on SALife TV Favourites on Sundays at 5.30pm. The 2015 season starts next month.

One of the great places to shop for both pantry staples and exotic ingredients is Burnside Village. The 2015 issue of The Vine features Rosa Matto's tips for selecting the best produce plus delicious seasonal recipes. She even offers some suggestions of ways to cheat a little and still impress the dinner guests.
