HRAC Hosting Photo Album Party/Fundraiser

The Alpha Kappa Psi Hampton Roads Alumni Chapter will host an Ahni & Zoe party during the month of June! - Ahni & Zoe -Creative Memories was founded in 1987 as a destination for capturing, organizing and celebrating your beautiful life through photos.
While the way we take photos has evolved throughout the years, one thing hasn’t changed: the impact that printed photos can have when shared with family and friends. They spread joy and create smiles. All we need is a fast, simple way to get us from click to print to share. That’s the secret. And that’s the inspiration for Ahni & Zoe. The A&Z line is designed for those with lots of ambition, but not a lot of time.
The "Nobody Puts Navy in the Corner" theme is perfect for any AKPsi inspired photo album as it has all the blue and gold you could ever want! The chapter will be getting this album to start a HRAC scrapbook/photo album to be passed down of all of our adventures together as brothers.
There are many different album options to choose from and many ways to personalize it to make it your own.  Click here to visit the site to learn more about Ahni & Zoe, place your order, and help HRAC get an albumn for our organization. The party will be open until June 30, 2014 and orders will ship directly to you.

Please share this link with your friends, family, undergraduate AKPsi chapters, or any other organization that wants a place to preserve their memories.
Contact Brother Vicky Aldridge for any questions or more information regarding this party.

Wine Tasting Coming This Month

Are you ready for some wine tasting?  If you're interested, make sure your RSVP this week!

Last June, members of HRAC traveled to Saude Creek Vineyards in New Kent County for a wine tasting adventure.  This year, we will stay right here in the Hampton Roads area and visit Mermaid Winery -the urban winery in the Ghent neighborhood of Norfolk.

The event will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 4:00 pm.  Gathering is free and tasting options begin at $8 per flight.  You must RSVP to attend this event!  We hope to see you there!

HRAC Website Changes

It was previously determined during an officer meeting that an adjustment would be made to the HRAC website which would only allow brothers who have paid annual dues to list a profile on the site.  This change went into effect on Tuesday, May 13.

While we encourage everyone to join us for our social events and activities, please keep in mind that there are benefits to being a paid member of the organization -including voting rights, exclusive member-only events, opportunities to serve as an officer, chair, or committee member, and of course, having your profile on our much more!

If you would like to join or renew your official membership, please contact Treasurer, Shelly Rossi or visit our website: and click on Join/Renew at the top of the page.  Current membership is only $25.

 New Brotherhood Spotlights

Want to get to know your HRAC brothers a little better?  Beginning with this month, the we will spotlight an AKPsi brother in the first newsletter.  The newsletter sent on the third week will still follow the article format.

HRAC sends special thanks to Vicky Aldridge for volunteering to be our first brotherhood spotlight.  If you are interested in a spotlight, please contact brother Kim Green at  If there are a lack of volunteers, brothers will be selected at random.  Please keep in mind that you must be a dues paying member to be featured in the spotlight.

And without further adieu...

June Brotherhood Spotlight:

Vicky Aldridge

1.       What is your full name?  Victoria Katherine Aldridge
2.       When is your birthday?  December 28, 1984
3.       When did you join AKPsi?  Spring 2004
4.       Where did you go to school?  Elon University (undergraduate), Old Dominion University (graduate)
5.       Do you have any siblings?  No, I'm an only child
6.       What is your favorite color?  Blue
7.       What is your guilty pleasure? Celebrity/trashy reality shows (Keeping up with the Kardashians, Vanderplump Rules, Real Housewives of anything). I'll watch any of them.
8.       If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?  Teleportation so I can go to places I want to visit around the world without having to take hours to travel there.
9.       What are your best three traits?  Punctuality, Loyalty, Caring
10.   Do you have any unusual talents?  No...I'm boring
11.   What is your favorite food(s)?  Maryland Blue Crabs
12.   What is your favorite tv show?  Criminal Minds
13.   If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?  Right now I would pick Prague, Czech Republic. I have wanted to go to Prague since high school. I love learning about different cultures and the history of different cities and regions of the world. Since going to Europe in 2010, I now want to explore it more and I enjoy eastern European cultures and history. Besides, it is a beautiful city in all the pictures I see.  I was supposed to go in 2010 when I went to Germany to visit my husband, but the rental car company in Germany would not let us take the car east of Germany. My husband promised that he would take me to Prague within 5 years since I had to cancel all of our reservations in Prague at the last minute. Next year is the 5 year mark and right now we don't have plans to go, but I'm still holding out hope that we can make it over there.
14.   What is your favorite type of music?  Country is my favorite, but I like many kinds of music including classic rock, alternative, and rock.
15.   Have you ever played any sports?  Tee-ball, soccer (through middle school and intramural in college), field hockey (college)
16.   Tell us an embarrassing story.  I ran into a fire hydrant when I was in middle school. I was walking on the side walk outside of my school and was so busy in the story I was telling or whatever I was talking about that I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking and walked right into a big yellow fire hydrant that was more than waist high. Of course it was when there were several people outside and everyone saw it. I still get made fun of for it whenever my parents see a fire hydrant in my path.
