End of the Year Meeting Saturday at Bier Garden

The Bier Garden is back by popular demand.  The chapter has combined an informal meeting with dinner at the Bier Garden for Saturday, November 8.  The meeting will begin at 4:30 pm with dinner and drinks to follow.  This will be the final meeting for 2014, so be sure to drop in to hear what's anticipated for the new year.

This informal meeting will be brief and is only expected to last about 30 minutes.  Please be on time for this portion.  The meeting will be closed to outsiders but activities afterwards are open to HRAC brothers, potential new members, and guests.

The Bier Garden offers an array of German and Bavarian dishes as well as an extensive collection of 19 pages of beverages ranging from Belgium, English, and German ale, cider, and wine. Help us wrap up the year in style.

Please RSVP so we know how much space to reserve for Saturday.

Norfolk Admirals Tickets on Sale

Are you a hockey fan?  Looking for something different to do?  Just want to get out for a good time?  We have the answer!

The Hampton Roads Alumni Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi is selling discounted Norfolk Admirals tickets!  Admirals tickets are usually $18.00 - $23.00 but you can reserve yours now for only $11.00 (plus service/convenience fees).  A portion of your purchase will benefit the alumni chapter.

Tickets must be purchased no later than next Wednesday, November 12.  Tickets can be picked up from a fellow AKPsi brother prior to the game.  The event will take place on Friday, November 21 at 7:30 pm at the Scope Arena in downtown Norfolk.  Don't delay!  Order your tickets today and share the link with friends, family, and other brothers!

HRAC Helping the Hungry at Thanksgiving

The Hampton Roads Alumni Chapter plans to donate two turkeys and canned goods to the YMCA for Thanksgiving this year.  The food provided will help feed the hungry during the holiday.  Anyone interested in providing for the cause can share a donation with the chapter.  Donations will be accepted through Saturday, November 15. A minimum donation of $5 is requested.  Please feel free to bring your donation to the meeting this Saturday.

CNU Homecoming Tailgate Party Brings out Hundreds

On Saturday, October 25, hundreds of students, alumni, and fans ga
thered throughout the campus of Christopher Newport University to celebrate the homecoming event and football game against Greensboro College.  Included in the numbers were some of our very own HRAC members as well as Iota Pi brothers and fellow members from out of the area.  Overall, about 40 brothers represented Alpha Kappa Psi at the festivities.

Brother Dan Boyd reserved a spot for the group for the event where brothers were able to grill food and participate in various games and activities.  Other festivities that took place throughout CNU's Homecoming Weekend included multiple receptions, a golf tournament, concerts, and a family fun run.

Event Fees for Future Activities

A change is coming in 2015!  As we continue to try to grow the alumni chapter, it is important that we all realize and respect the exclusivity of being a member of Alpha Kappa Psi.

How does this affect you?  For all social events hosted by the chapter, AKPsi brothers who wish to attend but have not paid annual dues will be charged a fee of $5 to attend.  Non-members will be charged $10.  This does include annual celebrations such as the cookout and Founders Day celebration.

How can you avoid such fees?  Become a dues paying member for 2015 and gain free access to all activities and social events!  We hope you will plan to do so.  Membership information and renewal details will be provided at a future date.
