The 24 hours immediately following any New Moon is a very powerful time for manifestation, so put out your intentions!
Declutter and Cleanse!
& Time to Manifest your Dreams
Hi <<First Name>>
We're well and truly in the eclipse season now. The earthquakes that occurred on the day of the 'almost' lunar eclipse of 18 Aug (especially the 5.8 magnitude one here in Australia at Bowen) and the Italian earthquake since then have proved to me that it really did count as a lunar eclipse after all.
On top of that, we're already in the 'shadow' of the upcoming Mercury retro period, and I must say I've been feeling like it's Mercury retro since the shadow period started! Worst so far was getting into my car at the end of a long day only to find that the car key wouldn't spring out of its holder, no matter what I did! Nothing worse than sitting in the car, knowing you've got the car key in your hand, but you just can't get at it !! :) I did finally extricate it ... that was the same day my credit card details got skimmed ... Welcome to Mercury retro shadow aided and abetted by the eclipse season!
If you love looking at the stars, skywatching is spectacular now. Venus is returning as the Evening Star and even Mercury is visible close to Jupiter in the evening sky.
The New Moon in Virgo on Thurs 1 Sept is a solar eclipse, an intensified form of a New Moon. This is likely to bring significant changes to the way we approach our everyday life, with the eclipse indicating an important new cycle beginning now. This is an excellent time to start a new health regime, or to bring a new sense of order into your life. If you’re thinking of going on a cleanse, or de-cluttering your house, this eclipsed New Moon provides perfect timing, and may even demand it of you. Virgo loves order and has a tendency towards perfectionism. The challenge for Virgo is not getting lost in the detail (which it is so good at) and as a result, losing sight of the overall vision, the classic “not being able to see the wood (forest) for the trees”.
If your birthday is close to this eclipsed New Moon, this marks the beginning of a highly significant new cycle in your life in terms of your identity and your sense of purpose.
This is an annular (meaning ‘ring’) eclipse, similar to a total solar eclipse but as the Moon is further away from the Earth, it doesn’t completely block out the Sun, and so a band of sunlight can be seen around the dark disc of the Moon. The eclipse will be visible over Africa and Madagascar.
Remember to put out your New Moon intentions within 24 hours of the New Moon. The eclipse gives added power to the intentions you create now. The eclipsed New Moon is exact at 7.06pm AEST.
Be mindful of my usual warning around eclipses. Eclipses demand respect, so take care and don’t take any unnecessary risks in this period or in the couple of weeks either side of the eclipses.
Jupiter moves into diplomatic Libra on Fri 9 Sept. Jupiter takes a year to move through a sign, and in that time moral and ethical issues associated with that sign tend to come to the fore. In Libra, Jupiter is likely to expand our understanding and appreciation of the need for balance, for mediation, and to hear both sides of any story – a very necessary redress of the complete skew on the stories currently reported in mainstream media. Fairness is a key concept with Libra, and it’s likely there will be reviews of laws – national and international, addressing issues of fairness. Libra’s also associated with relationships and a highly topical issue in many parts of the world right now is marriage equality. Jupiter in Libra is likely to bring greater understanding and acceptance of marriage equality and other human rights issues.
The third in the series of challenging Saturn-Neptune contacts occurs on Sat 10 Sept. This combination of planetary energies is about turning your visions into reality and manifesting your dreams. This has been an ongoing process since the end of November last year, with a second contact in mid-June. This third contact now is the culmination of that process, a fantastic time to be creating a revised and updated Vision Board, while putting out strong intentions around what you’d really like to manifest in the world. They key to bringing these dreams through to reality is structure and self-discipline, the positive attributes of Saturn J.
The Full Moon in Pisces is a Lunar Eclipse, falling in the early morning of Sat 17 Sept (AEST). This is a dreamy, romantic time which can bring a yearning for oneness and spiritual fulfillment, yet the lunar eclipse brings an added intensity which may see emotions bubbling to the surface at this time. The eclipsed Full Moon in Pisces highlights the urge to find a balance between seeing the big picture and staying in touch with the details that ground the vision. If you have significant chart points around 24 degrees Pisces, you will be strongly affected by this Lunar Eclipse Full Moon. The penumbral eclipse will be visible at Moon set, as the Moon passes into half-shadow. The eclipsed Full Moon is exact at 4.54am AEST, so the best night for Full Moon celebrations is the previous evening Fri 16 Sept.
After three weeks of its usual communication challenges, delays and frustrations, Mercury goes direct again on Thurs 22 Sept. In the meantime, double-check appointments and flight times, that you have your keys with you, and that messages get through OK. Remember that confusion and misunderstandings occur much more easily in this period. This is not a good time to make major purchases as all too often you’ll end up having to take the goods back to the shop. Try to avoid signing contracts in this period, and if you really can’t get out of it, make sure you read the fine print very carefully. The upside of Mercury retro is that it’s a great time to sort out your paperwork and computer files – tidy up, create order (echoing the Virgo New Moon theme of bringing more order into your life), ready for when Mercury goes direct again on 22 Sept. You’re likely to find all kinds of things you thought you’d lost :)
The Equinox falls just after midnight on Fri 23 Sept (00.21am AEST, so 22 Sept in WA, Europe and the Americas). The theme of the Equinox is always about balance. This is the time of year when day and night are of equal length (equi-nox means ‘equal night’), the Sun rises due east, and the seasons come to a point of balance. This Equinox is marked by the Sun moving into the zodiac sign of Libra, the sign associated with harmony, balance and fairness. In the Southern hemisphere this is the Spring Equinox, a time of rejoicing that winter is over and celebrating the birth of new life. The seasons are reversed in the Northern hemisphere where this is the Autumn Equinox, a time of harvest celebration, giving thanks for the abundant crops produced by the summer months. Whether you are celebrating Spring or Autumn Equinox, this is a perfect time to reflect on your own life, explore what might be out of balance there and find a way to restore that, whether it’s in your relationships, your work or any other aspect of your life.
At the start of this lunar month, the lovers Venus and Mars are in a very outgoing mood - Mars in adventurous Sagittarius and Venus in diplomatic Libra – Fire and Air signs respectively, with a light and playful energy between them. After the Equinox, Venus moves into the emotional depths of Scorpio on Sat 24 Sept 2016 (AEST, 23 Sept in Europe & the Americas) followed by Mars going into serious Capricorn on Tues 27 Sept. The lovers are still very much in harmony in the complementary signs of Water and Earth respectively, but now the energy is subdued and more introverted, with a calmer and quieter connection between them.
Pluto turns direct on Tues 27 Sept (AEST) just after the Equinox, adding a powerful depth charge to this delicate point of balance. This is a time when deeply-buried issues may finally rise to the surface, particularly if you’ve become more aware of them bubbling away in the last six months. Plutonian issues usually concern disempowerment, powerlessness and on the other side of the coin, misuses or even abuses of power. This time now is well-suited to deep inner work, shifting these issues so that you can at last move forward. The key to moving through this is to become as aware as possible of our feelings and reactions, becoming conscious of how, on the one hand, we may give away our power, and on the other, how we may manipulate others to get our own way. It can be really subtle, so to paraphrase Socrates, know thyself – and stay in the light!
If you have chart points at 14-15 degrees of Capricorn (or any of the other cardinal signs: Aries, Cancer, Libra) you will be picking up on this intense transformational energy at a very personal level – in fact it’s been going on for the last year or two. The good news is that it is finally easing for you as Pluto moves forwards and leaves this degree behind. Hopefully you have faced the demons and can now step fully into your power.
Looking ahead to next lunar month
The next New Moon falls on Sat 1 Oct 2016 at 10.11am AEST at 8 degrees Libra.
