The 2019 Season Comes to an End
Message from our Managing Director Ken Cox:
I'd like to thank the great staff and wonderful volunteers for their hard work this summer.  I witnessed quite a number of acts of kindness and saw people helping each other.  That's what makes our community a place that brings us back year after year.    Ken

Vote for your favorite Crystal Lake picture on our Facebook page. Check out the selection of beautiful entries into our 2019 photo contest. "Like" your favorite photo, and the photo with the most likes by Friday at noon wins the photographer a free ice cream cone at the Crystal View! By the way, this beauty was taken by our Communications/Archives Intern Max Buzzell.
Just like Flat Stanley and Where's Waldo, the CSA logo shows up in some surprising places. The Dog House logo popped up this week  with Ginanne Brownell outside of Liberty's of London. Over the next 10 months we would like to feature where the CSA logo goes across the U.S. and the globe. We will post pictures on Instagram and Facebook in the late spring.  So take your CSA gear with you and send photos to us via Facebook Messenger, or email to gbrownell@gmail.com.

Congratulations to Gracie Mauer, recipient of the 2019 CSA Youth Citizenship Award!
Join us at the Meeting House this Sunday, August 18th at 11 a.m. for the final worship service of the season. Rev. Robert McQuilken will preach. Bob was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the College of Wooster and McCormick Theological Seminary, and was ordained in 1960 in the Presbyterian Church, USA. He now lives in Frankfort with his wife, Judy. The Celebration of Life will be included.
The Pilgrim Fund was established in 1969 to support religious (spiritual) and educational aspects of the Assembly. It is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)3 of the IRS code, which permits all contributions to be considered tax-deductible on the donor's personal income tax returns where permitted. Recently, the Pilgrim Fund Trustees engaged the firm of Plumstead, PC in Frankfort to receive and administer all financial transactions for the fund. All contributions should be mail to: PO. Box 94, Frankfort, MI 49635.

The results are in for the August Tennis Tournament.

Congratulations to all who participated! Open this link for a list of finalists and winners.
MANY THANKS to the poets who participated in the poetry reading following the Artists and Artisans Fair last Wednesday. Some of the poems read included works by Mary Oliver, Wendell Berry, the late Toni Morrison, and some original poetry by CSA member Cheryl Heineman. Open the link  to read three of her poems. Enjoy!

If you're home now and missing the beach, open this Day at the Beach video by Max Buzzell and we'll take you back there!

The Communications Committee thanks Holly Freeburg for her 7 years of leadership. During that time she helped launch the weekly news email and CSA Instagram page, improved the CSA Facebook page and website, and managed 4 Communications interns. The committee is confident that the CSA is in great hands as she serves as the President of the Board of Trustees.
